About the role


· Support and drive the key performance indicators of the business unit including financial, operational and project related.

· Produce and communicate results including monthly performance packs, external reporting, and other ad hoc reports.

· Analysis of monthly actuals, quarterly forecast, and annual budget.

· Support and assist in the scenario/strategic planning and other long-range planning covering the full P&L, capex, and headcount.

· Own and understand project revenue recognition, rebates, backlog, and chargeable utilisation.


What you'll do

Financial Planning Analysis

  • Support the target setting process for budget, forecast and strategic planning.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to prepare and provide clear guidance and KPIs for all financial planning processes and to ensure consistent deliveries with sufficient information to explain drivers and trends.
  • Support the preparation of budget, strategic planning and rolling forecast presentations that will support meetings held with Executive and Operational Committees and Board of Directors.
  • Provide insightful analysis, business KPIs, trends and performance that will provide actionable insights to support and influence business decisions.
  • Navigate large amounts of data to discern underlying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Drive continuous process improvement with focus on accuracy, automation, and standardization.
  • Partner with wider finance teams to ensure that systems and management reports are properly configured; define and create new insightful reports that can be deployed across the group.
  • Support the timely preparation of performance reports and presentations. 

Project Revenue and Related KPIs

  • Prepare, analyse, and report the monthly project revenues in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Co-ordinates all the inputs in the revenue model including confirmed orders, scope changes and cancellations, project billings.
  • Participate, contribute, and adhere to the revenue recognition policy, narrative, and related controls.
  • Review project backlog health, accrued/deferred income, and accounts receivables.
  • Support the calculation and reporting of project related key performance indicators including but not limited to project profitability, project efficiency/recoverability, chargeable utilisation, delivery FTE, fee per hour/ consultant.
  • Prepare, analyse, and report prediction based on capacity planning, backlog burn rate and backlog phasing.
  • Serves as a financial liaison for the project management, escalating significant issues within finance and working across departments to resolve issues as required.
  • Reviews all significant proposals to ensure they meet corporate profitability and cash targets.
  • Supports monthly closing schedule and corporate financial reporting requirements.

Management Accounting

  • Support the accounting operations in completing the month end close activities and journal posting as assigned.
  • Own the volume rebates process, ensuring that accruals are materially correct, payments made in timely fashion and in line with agreements.
  • Analysis and review of intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Support in the preparation and review of account analysis for various departments.
  • Discuss with the business actual versus forecast/budgets and commentary of variances.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management or equivalent work experience
  • 4-6 years of Financial Analyst experience in pharmaceutical, CRO, or Consulting business.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Requires exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent financial, communication, and interpersonal skills are as well as a high level of personal motivation to achieve.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential and sensitive data is required.
  • Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines and provide leadership to less senior staff.
  • Understands end to end processes, key outputs, and understands stakeholders’ expectations.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement and performance excellence activities.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
