Purpose of the Role:

As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a key role within Svante’s FP&A and Corporate Development teams, supporting the organization’s strategic goals through accurate financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business performance reporting.

You will partner closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to develop financial forecasts, analyze business performance, maintain and improve financial models, and provide actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement and automation of Svante’s reporting, data, budgeting, and financial planning systems.

This position is ideal for a finance professional who combines strong financial analysis capabilities with technical and data expertise and is comfortable working across Finance, Operations, Information Technology, and other business functions in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • You have 5-8 years of progressive experience within a Corporate FP&A, Finance Business Partner, or similar financial analysis function, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • You have strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and finance and accounting principles, with the ability to connect business strategy to underlying financial drivers.
  • You have advanced Excel skills and experience building, analyzing, and auditing complex financial models, along with experience using Corporate Performance Management (CPM) tools such as TM1/Cognos, Adaptive Insights, or Vena.
  • You have experience with Power BI or equivalent analytics platforms to develop financial, KPI, and operational reports and dashboards; knowledge of DAX, Power Query, relational databases, and data warehousing is considered an asset.
  • You have strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different functions and levels. You must be based in the Greater Vancouver Area and be able to work from the office based on FP&A team needs.

What Success Looks Like in This Role:

  • You will contribute to and take ownership of key components of Svante’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  • You will develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, management reports, dashboards, and business review materials that support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • You will analyze financial and operational KPIs to identify business trends, performance drivers, risks, and opportunities, translating complex data into clear and actionable insights for Finance, Operations, and senior leadership.
  • You will collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Information Technology teams to improve Svante’s centralized data ecosystem, financial planning tools, reporting processes, and Corporate Performance Management platform.
  • You will identify opportunities to automate and continuously improve financial reporting, planning, modelling, and data processes, while supporting Corporate Development initiatives through financial analysis, modelling, and business case development as required.

The actual salary offered to the final candidate is based on the salary range shown, and will vary depending on the candidate’s relative experience, qualifications, and anticipated level of performance. Skills Required

  • 5-8 years progressive experience in Corporate FP&A, Finance Business Partner, or similar
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • CPA, MBA, or relevant professional designation or advanced education
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel skills, including building and auditing complex financial models
  • Experience with Corporate Performance Management (CPM) tools (TM1/Cognos, Adaptive Insights, or Vena)
  • Working knowledge of relational database concepts and data warehousing applied to financial analysis
  • Experience using Power BI or equivalent analytics platforms to develop financial and operational reports
  • Knowledge of DAX and Power Query
  • Experience supporting or improving budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial planning systems and processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate across functions and levels
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-management, and ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement
  • Must be based in the Greater Vancouver Area and work from the office a minimum number of days per week
