At MECCA Brands - one of Australia and New Zealand's fastest-growing beauty retailers - Finance is central to how we scale. This is a high-impact opportunity for a driven Senior Financial Accountant to oversee inventory accounting and reporting, lead a small high-performing team, and drive continuous improvement across a fast-moving finance function on a Fixed Term Contract until October 2027.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity of inventory valuation and balance sheet positions, delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining strong audit readiness. The role also provides leadership and oversight to a small team, supporting capability uplift and continuous improvement across finance processes.
The Role You Could Play:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing inventory accounting, coordinating and driving team projects, leading key aspects of financial reporting, and acting as a key point of contact for external audit. You will:
Oversee and provide technical and commercial expertise on inventory accounting, valuation, landed costs and provisioning to ensure accurate financial reporting
Ensure strong balance sheet governance and month-end and support statutory reporting requirements particularly across inventory and related accounts.
Act as a key contact for external audit activities, ensuring audit readiness and driving continuous improvement in audit processes
Partner with Retail, Distribution, Supply Chain, Commercial and Sustainability teams to support business initiatives, inventory performance and ASRS reporting requirements
Lead, coach and develop a small team while contributing to finance transformation, systems enhancement and process improvement initiatives
What You Will Bring:
You are a technically strong finance leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys driving improvements. Ideally, you will bring:
CA/CPA qualification with significant experience in audit and financial accounting or a similar technical finance role
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including AASB/IFRS reporting standards and balance sheet governance
Experience managing inventory accounting, controls and reporting within a retail, FMCG or product-based environment
Proven ability to lead and develop teams while building strong relationships across a broad stakeholder group
A proactive mindset, strong analytical capability and a passion for continuous improvement and process optimisation
