The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from:

Job Summary

This position is responsible for preparing the financial planning / forecasting processes, preparing financial statements models; and supervising Tax Equity Investment (TEI) related accounting issues for Avangrid Renewables.

This position requires a strong specialization in preparation of forecasted financial statements, financial modeling, valuation techniques and a good understanding of the Renewables energy industry and markets.

The ideal candidate is an agile thinker, problem solver, team player, and enjoys taking on new challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quarterly forecast vs actual analysis for all TEI entities – provide qualitative and interpretative explains of the variances of the HLBV results.

  • Manage TEI related accounting matters for all TEI projects – includes preparing / reviewing monthly TEI related accounting entries, helping with new TEI set up process by leading weekly set up meetings, finalizing HLBV and debt models, performing monthly / quarterly / annually TEI related controls, preparing TEI related reporting deliverables.

  • Prepare the financial statement modeling work – maintaining and updating all the models including the HLBV models, debt models, financial statement templates and etc.

  • Review investment models for accuracy, compliance with company policies, proper accounting treatment and profitability targets

  • Develop and maintain complex business financial models to be used for strategic planning, budgeting, and long-term forecasting.

  • Understand tax law and accounting policy changes, analyze impacts to company financials, and present findings.

  • Participate on special projects related to key objectives of the Avangrid renewables organization

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, STEM, or related field

  • 5 years of experience in industry or public accounting or demonstrated ability to perform the required tasks based on previous levels of responsibility

  • Strong financial modeling skills of financial statements including income statement, cash flow statement and balance sheet

  • Familiarity with GAAP

  • Knowledge of financial metrics principles, and valuation methodologies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to adapt to competing priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others as well as operate with a minimum of supervision

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with many departments

  • Confidence to challenge/question where appropriate

  • Sound organizational and time management skills
