This is a fixed-term maternity cover position.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Finance Specialist to join our Finance team.

The person will play a key role in managing accounting, administrative, closing, reporting and treasury activities. The role includes responsibility for monthly and annual closings, management reporting, treasury operations, and the coordination of two administrative/accounting team members.

This is a highly operational role within a lean and dynamic environment, offering strong exposure across all areas of Finance and close interaction with management, external advisors, auditors and banking partners.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Closing

  • Manage general accounting activities through monthly, interim, and year-end close processes.
  • Oversee fixed assets accounting and related controls.
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable cycle.
  • Manage payroll accounting, including salary postings and reconciliations with the payroll provider.
  • Support annual and interim statutory financial statements preparation.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for the notes to the financial statements.
  • Liaise with tax advisors, payroll providers and external auditors.
  • Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete and compliant with applicable requirements.

Reporting & Controlling

  • Manage monthly accounting and management reporting close cycles.
  • Prepare reporting packages for management.
  • Support FP&A activities through KPI analysis, variance analysis and financial insights.
  • Support the group consolidation process for the Company’s three entities.
  • Contribute to improving reporting quality, timelines and processes.

Treasury

  • Monitor daily bank movements and cash positions.
  • Manage cash flow planning and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare weekly and quarterly treasury forecasts.
  • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Supervise bank accounts and treasury activities for foreign entities.
  • Manage supplier, payroll and other operating payments.

Team coordination & Process Improvement

  • Coordinate two administrative/accounting resources, providing day-to-day operational supervision.
  • Support the improvement and standardization of Finance processes.
  • Promote accuracy, accountability and efficiency within the team.

Compliance & Audit

  • Support statutory audit activities and related documentation.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with auditors and tax advisors.
  • Ensure proper use of the ERP system, NetSuite, for accounting and financial management processes.

Requirements
  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, administration or finance roles, preferably within scale-up environments.
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting, statutory closing and financial statements.
  • Solid understanding of Italian accounting and tax requirements.
  • Knowledge of Spanish and UK accounting/tax matters is a plus.
  • Good command of English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience using ERP systems; NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with payroll accounting, salary postings and payroll reconciliations.
  • Strong accuracy, autonomy and hands-on approach.
  • Practical problem-solving mindset and ability to work effectively in a lean, dynamic environment.
