We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join our accounting team in Overland Park, KS.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Acts as liaison between Group Company leadership and company management, with an emphasis on facilitating information flow.
  • Provides training support on financial tools (e.g., budget and forecast templates) to Group Company management, support staff and technical staff as needed.
  • For Group Company operating units, analyzes, monitors and reports on performance vs. financial targets and goals; tracks variances and reports exceptions.
  • Working with Project Finance and Project Management Office (PMO), may be assigned to specific projects to monitor and report on project finances, prepare complex spreadsheets in review of the project, prepare monthly project progress reports, track and report on subcontractor usage or provide other project related analysis.
  • Working with Project Finance and PMO, analyzes unbilled services and retainage, compares compensation against contract amount, guards against negative backlog, and provides any other project analysis requested by the Group Operations Director or Group President and/or Finance Director.
  • Working with Revenue Accounting, reviews monthly revenue generation on assigned projects to verify compliance with company policies, accuracy and substantiation.
  • Investigates and analyzes overhead expenditures for Group Company/operating units.
  • Assists Group Operations Director or Group President in the development of the annual business plan and periodic forecasted updates for revenue, staffing, labor costs, operating expenses and cash flow.
  • Ensures that all financial tools and recurring analyses and reports are developed and completed in line with formats and standards established by the Finance Director, in order to provide consistency across Group Companies.
  • Assists in development of remedial or recovery strategies consistent with the prudent financial management of the Group Company.
  • Provides guidance to Group Company operations according to established policies, procedures and executive management directives.
  • Supports Group Company leadership in maintaining the company’s internal controls and financial standards, policies and procedures.
  • Develops, implements, integrates, and oversees Group Company operational financial processes and reporting, and provides on-going training, guidance and oversight to senior level technical staff.
  • As required, becomes engaged in business analysis, due diligence and discussions with potential M&A partners.
  • Provide business and related investment and ROI studies of units, regions or other operating entities.
  • May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and at least eight years of experience.
  • Oracle, Blackline or other G/L and Banking reconciliation software experience along with an understanding of consolidated financial statements for multiple entities preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

  • Position requires strong technical accounting skills and understanding of GAAP.
