The Senior Finance Manager partners with the Wealth Management leadership team to develop profitable, growth-oriented strategies across various macroeconomic cycles. Serves as the lead finance business partner for the Wealth Management Division and is accountable for financial planning, performance management, profitability analysis, strategic decision support, and executive financial insights supporting divisional growth and profitability objectives. The Wealth Management Division is inclusive of Private Wealth, Institutional Trust, Simmons Investment Services, and Private Banking. Responsible for providing financial insights and recommendations to divisional leadership while overseeing the application of policies and procedures to ensure all activities meet regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development of various organic and inorganic growth strategies and associated financial proformas.
  • Manage all aspects of financial support and oversight for the Wealth Management Division, providing recommendations and executing initiatives to achieve strategic and financial objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance recurring financial reporting packages, scorecards, and key performance indicators used to measure Wealth Management performance against strategic and financial objectives.
  • Conducts complex analysis as it applies to Wealth Management business performance, profitability, growth initiatives, and strategic priorities.
  • Focus on one or more areas, such as budgeting & forecasting, trend analysis, pricing & profitability modeling & analytics, capital management, acquisition/divestiture scenario modeling, financing & investment alternatives, and divisional performance management.
  • Provide financial expertise to assist Wealth Management leadership in the development and completion of projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Support acquisition, divestiture, lift-out, recruiting, and strategic partnership evaluations through financial due diligence, valuation analysis, and post-implementation performance measurement.
  • Partner with Wealth Management leadership and Human Resources to design, evaluate, and monitor incentive compensation programs that align employee behaviors with strategic, growth, profitability, and risk-management objectives.
  • Shape divisional strategy by identifying emerging trends, assessing risks and opportunities, and influencing leadership decisions that drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
  • Analyze key Wealth Management performance drivers, including assets under management, fee income, trust revenue, investment services revenue, private banking performance, profitability, and operating efficiency.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional teams to ensure financial considerations are integrated into various business projects and initiatives.
  • Guide strategic investment, pricing, and growth decisions through scenario analysis and forward-looking financial insights.
  • Establish the financial framework and performance measures used to evaluate and execute Wealth Management strategic priorities.
  • Develop conclusions and recommended courses of action to address identified opportunities, risks, and performance gaps.
  • Present reports, analyses, forecasts, and recommendations to executive management, Wealth Management leadership, and auditors.
  • Serve as the primary finance liaison and strategic business partner to Wealth Management leadership.
  • Partner with Accounting, Data & Analytics, Technology, and Enterprise Data teams to improve data quality, reporting capabilities, profitability measurement, and financial decision-support tools.
  • Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • BS/BA Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field,
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, corporate finance, banking, wealth management, strategic planning, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting advisor-based businesses, fee-based revenue models, fiduciary services, trust operations, investment management, brokerage, or private banking businesses preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, management, board of directors, other employees in the organization, and the general public.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis, financial model-building and interpretive statistics.
  • Ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business recommendations and strategic direction.
  • Ability to successfully plan, develop, lead, and execute projects.
  • Ability to effectively interpret, select appropriate techniques, take independent action, communicate and follow-through.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative communication skills with well-developed presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities effectively, making good decisions based on business priorities and objectives.
  • Practical knowledge of financial analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Ability to employ complex analytical tools and statistics to perform analysis and forecasting of financial and other business information.
  • Knowledge and understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Knowledge of accounting and the associated rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of Wealth Management business drivers, including assets under management, fee-based revenue, trust and fiduciary services, investment services, and private banking operations.

  • MS Office programs
  • Expert proficiency level Microsoft Excel
  • Power BI or other visualization experience preferred
