Santander Corporate & Investment Banking – Senior Finance Manager (VP/Manager I)

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to play a key Finance role in its branch based in Amsterdam.

You will be part of a Global Finance Team with local reporting into the Branch Management. The combination between being part of one of the biggest international banks and working in local Branch environment is unique. Key Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Reporting to local authorities (Regulator, Tax authority, etc) on a timely and accurate basis and for the internal reporting required by the Group
  • Preparation of the financial statements of the Branch, in accordance with IFRS accounting rules on a monthly basis
  • Production and analysis of Management Reports, and partnering with the business for monitoring the Financial performance of the Branch, Clients & Segments, Products as well as Cost variance analysis
  • Active communication and coordination with other global Finance and Control teams to ensure complete and accurate management reporting
  • Support for all aspects of Tax Compliance (Corporation Tax, VAT ,Transfer Pricing etc) in the Branch and for liaising and coordinating with Group regarding Tax initiatives
  • Ongoing Budgeting and Strategic Planning cycles and cost management initiatives
  • Supplier management: managing relationship with supplier and executing internal onboarding / controlling processes [
  • Management of Contracts with Santander Back Office and coordination with central IT team for basic infrastructure
  • Coordination and collaboration with external and internal auditors
  • Active participation in the branch governance and decision making processes

 

Who are you?

  • Bachelor- or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or related
  • You have a minimum of 10+ years work experience
  • You have a background in banking, Big 4 (treasury, transactional services or financial services) or within a multinational in a finance and control department
  • You have at minimum a basic understanding of banking products and services
  • You have an interest or business knowledge in the financial world
  • Fluent in English, Spanish is a plus
