Senior Finance Manager - Corporate Functions

Graco manufactures and markets premium equipment to move, measure, control, dispense and spray a wide variety of fluid and powder materials. What does that mean? This role is currently based at our Minneapolis office and will transition to our new headquarters in Dayton, MN, in 2027.  

The Senior Finance Manager is a leadership position within each respective corporate function to provide financial oversight designed to improve operating results and decision making. This position is responsible for setting budgets, ensuring expenditures remain within target and engaging across the organization to deliver results that generate the highest return on investment. The Senior Finance Manager prepares ongoing financial analysis and works with management to develop strategy and operating initiatives. This role assists with implementation of enterprise-wide financial and operating measurements and defines reporting to track progress on specific operating targets and goals. The Senior Finance Manager takes initiative to identify, develop recommendations and assist in implementation of process improvements.

The role is highly dynamic, requiring strong management and leadership skills, and the ability to oversee and execute on multiple areas of work simultaneously. Strong collaboration and clear communication are key, and success will depend on effectively influencing and negotiating across a matrix organization to drive alignment on objectives and clear paths to execution.

What You Will Do at Graco

• Assist in definition of functional strategies through analysis, discussion and preparation of financial recommendations
• Develop financial models to support decision-making related to the function’s investments and projects
• Develop financial and operational metrics, analytics and insight into the business that informs decision making at the highest levels
• Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for each area
• Contribute to the development of visual operational metrics, using data and analytics to track key metrics and performance trends
• Collaborate with various corporate functions to identify and implement cost savings and process improvements
• Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging trends in the function, and report on their potential impact on the company's business
• Oversees the annual plan process, on-going operating results and monitor expenditures to ensure they align with budgetary constraints
• Review investment projects and requests; monitor progress in implementation and recommend changes if appropriate
• Assist in preparation and presentation of reports and materials for business reviews
• Responsible for compliance with company management and accounting policies and to provide input into new or updated policies
• Assistance with negotiating and renewing vendor contracts and agreements; assistance and coordination with corporate accounting for appropriate accounting treatment; recommendations to improve these agreements
• Coordination with corporate functions for the various audits that are performed; ownership of the documentation of key internal controls, management testing and remediation of deficiencies
• Other duties as assigned

Team Leadership and Financial Management 

• Lead, mentor, manage, and staff a finance team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and promoting a culture of excellence. 

• Drive team performance by setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and facilitating professional growth opportunities. 

• Establish, manage, and be accountable for the annual finance budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with organizational strategic objectives. 

What You Will Bring to Graco

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; MBA is preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance roles.
• Excellent leadership skills; 4+ years of team leadership experience preferred. 
• Excellent problem solving ability, organized, analytical, able to work with detailed information and provide high level analysis.
• Ability to think strategically and creatively while applying excellent business judgement
• Strong knowledge of financial modeling and analysis techniques.
• Experience working with financial systems, databases, information technology systems, and marketing analytics platforms.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex business finance and corporate finance information to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, active or inactive

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation.  If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience.  In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees.  Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role.  Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
