This role is positioned under Protect Platform within the Global Technology and Solutions (GTS) Finance team supporting the Corporate Technology Portfolio. The GTS Finance team provides exposure on technology expenses, one of TD's highest strategic priorities. This role provides an excellent opportunity for future career development beyond this role supporting a broad and diverse portfolio of both Business and Corporate units.
Job Description: The successful candidate for this position will report to the Sr Finance Manager, Protect Platform. This role is accountable for monthly management and performance reporting, financial analysis and assisting with forecasting and planning initiatives. The Senior Financial Analyst must be a driver with strong leadership / communication skills and have experience in leading and delivering value added business analysis, advice, and guidance. Candidates must be committed to professionalism, extreme attention to details, highly organized and able to see the big picture instead of trivial details.
Key accountabilities for this position include:
- Working with senior management to lead in the development / implementation of new financial models, methodologies to support the business in understanding the budgetary impact of their decisions.
- Being a leader in forecasting & planning by further building process excellence and leveraging partners to provide value add to the business.
- Providing value-added financial analysis and advisory support to business partners to develop and execute strategic plans and goals or respond to ad hoc requests for business analysis.
- Liaise with senior management and decision support team during the planning process to ensure initiatives are effectively incorporated into the business Annual Plan.
- Conducting analysis of forecast results and broader trends to provide a reasonable view of the future of the business with advice to improve decision making.
- Providing insightful and relevant commentary to Senior Leadership on business results, forecast and Plan.
- Developing of monthly and quarterly operating result packages. Conduct progressive analysis on monthly results and provide value add advice, and guidance.
- Developing internal tools and dashboards to deliver fast, valuable insights to Finance and Protect Platform senior leadership.
- Proactively identifying issues and recommending actions to senior leadership.
- Performing ad hoc exercises as required (e.g. reviewing Business Cases to validate financial input and impact against existing expense baseline, update the financial reporting model and structure to ensure alignment with any corresponding organizational changes such as merging of departments).
- In addition to the above, there is a strong focus on driving continuous improvement and innovation with the goal of enhancing financial reporting insights and transparency while decreasing workload and cycle times.

Education and Professional Experience Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree (Finance/Accounting/Economics preferred).
- Completed or working towards CPA, CFA or other accounting/financial designations would be an asset.
- 5 or more years of professional experience centered in areas such as financials, analytics, accounting.
- Proficiency and experience with Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI and financial reporting systems such as Hyperion SmartView, Oracle Business Intelligence (Tableau and Alteryx would be an asset).
Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
