The Role

Description
Hybrid This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Cole Engineering Center Warren MI, three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business
A Manufacturing, Performance Improvement Analyst is tasked with identifying and takin action on key financial opportunities across all manufacturing site. This analyst will be required to build relationships, create unique analysis, and support the team to think creatively. In this role, winning will looking like: commonizing tools across sites to increase effectiveness, developing new ways of looking at cost to identify cost savings initiatives, highlighting and taking action on financial opportunities.
What You'll Do:

  • Solve tough problems
    • Work with 100+ plant analysts and managers to understand key tasks and increase commonization
    • Develop an understanding of manufacturing operations, with a special light on financial performance, then initiate and drive cost improvements
    • Create senior leadership level presentations to enable understanding of issues and identified opportunities
  • Reporting on Key Initiatives
    • Work with plant managers and consolidations team to develop actionable presentations and deliver them to Manufacturing VPs
    • Support plant analysts and managers in delivering on key projects that are started, support development of read across opportunities
    • Understand headcount savings initiatives (optimization & productivity) and how they interplay with plant results
    • Create and utilize tools that support a broader understanding of outside services and their value chain
  • Manufacturing Leadership Support
    • Collaborate with HR, Continuous Improvement, OpEx, Manufacturing Operations and others to create streamlined systems of reporting financial information
    • Provide the right, relevant, timely data to leadership teams to develop sound business decisions
  • Systems and Tools
    • Ensure that systems and tools are optimized to drive financial results
    • Support development of new forecasting and actuals tracking tools across the team
    • Be a leader amongst peers in understanding the needs of others, and ensure incorporation of those needs into new tools
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and analysis
    • Such as: Tariff strategic planning, global build shy tracking, manufacturing SharePoint management, Historical read-across analysis

Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Fluent in financial principles and financial analysis
  • Data Analysis, financial modeling skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Hyperion/Retrieve Skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Intellectual curiosity, and the ability to look at a problem from many angles
  • Ability to distill complex data to key takeaways and presenting insights to senior leadership

  • Strong organizational and relational skills within Finance and with operating partners
