Castleton Commodities International LLC (CCI) is seeking a Business Analyst (BA) to join their Information Technology Group supporting the energy/commodities trading operations / back-office systems. The Business Analyst will be part of a product team focused on Exchange Clearing, Settlements, and Confirmations. BAs are responsible for enhancements & upgrades to existing applications based on business development and changes, and user requests as well as level 2/3 production support of our existing applications, principally TriplePoint Commodity XL (ION TPT CXL) and a bespoke in-house version of Entegrate for US Physical Natural Gas.

The role will work in an Agile Product team and will focus on requirements gathering with internal operations and trading SMEs as well as other IT groups and then working requirements, configuration, prototyping and testing in CCI's agile scrum, rapid application development model. The BA will heavily utilize JIRA, Confluence and MS Teams for documentation and collaboration with the global team of developers and stakeholders. Requirements must then be built into functional specifications for the IT team. The business analyst will also be required to maintain a project reporting dashboard for management which will contain project timelines and deliverables, tracked against milestone dates. The analyst will be involved in QA with the developers, and delivery of the applications and enhancements to the user community, including demos and walkthroughs. Some maintenance of IT documentation or FAQ's will also be required as part of the IT Product model / application deployment lifecycle in order to promote and educate the user community about available IT applications, therefore verbal and written communications skills are vital.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in an analyst role implementing and/or supporting CXL or similar global multi-commodity/multi-instrument ETRM/CTRM system.
  • Configuring and administering ETRM/CTRM systems
  • Prior experience with commodity transaction life cycle execution; especially trading, exchange reconciliation, confirmations, master agreements, actualization, settlements and invoicing, but also position Mark-to-Market & P&L management (including FX exposure), credit exposure and margin management, scheduling, and accounting.
  • A strong understanding of the US and European power, gas, and oil liquids bulk markets and commodity futures, swaps, physicals, and options.
  • Solid Technical Skills (Excel, SQL querying skills required, experience with RDBMS, Alteryx or ETL packages preferred, Software development experience a plus). Experience with DUCO reconciliation platform is a plus.
  • Solid communication skills, Ability to work independently or as part of a global cross-functional team.
  • Track record of taking ownership of issues and being accountable for on-time, on-scope delivery
  • Familiarity with Agile approach to project management and product model.
