As a Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll lead multiple engineering squads within the Trade Finance and Commodities domain. You’ll play a key role in modernising a complex ecosystem—transforming legacy systems into scalable, cloud-native, API-driven platforms that enable automation, straight-through processing and improved risk outcomes.

This is a leadership role that goes beyond delivery, influencing domain-wide engineering strategy across product, architecture, data and AI.

The Trade Finance Engineering Crew supports domestic and international trade and supply chain finance customers. Our platforms power critical business processes across Trade Finance, Supply Chain Finance and commodities, with a strong focus on digitisation, automation and data-driven decision making.

You’ll:

• Lead and inspire multiple engineering squads, building a culture of ownership and continuous improvement

• Drive platform modernisation, simplifying complex workflows and legacy ecosystems

• Guide teams solving complex problems across distributed systems and data-intensive platforms

• Contribute to domain-level engineering strategy across Product, Architecture, Data, AI, Risk and Operations

• Embed engineering excellence across DevSecOps, SRE, observability and automation

• Ensure resilience, security and reliability across critical enterprise platforms

• Champion AI and GenAI adoption to improve engineering productivity and platform capability

• Partner with stakeholders to remove delivery blockers and enable execution at scale

You’re an experienced technology leader who operates at both strategic and technical depth, with a strong platform mindset and a passion for building high-performing teams in complex environments.

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and/or engineering managers

• Strong background in software engineering, DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)

• Experience building and operating cloud-native platforms (AWS preferred)

• Expertise in distributed systems, APIs and integration patterns

• Strong understanding of observability, monitoring and incident management

• Experience delivering large-scale platform modernisation initiatives

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across business and technology

• Experience working in data-intensive, analytical or regulated environments

Tech stack

• Experience with Python-based application development and modern engineering toolchains.

• Strong expertise in Software Engineering, DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

• Experience building and operating cloud-native platforms (AWS preferred).

• Strong understanding of:

  • Distributed systems, APIs and integration patterns.

  • Observability, monitoring and incident management.

  • Platform engineering and modern delivery practices.

  • Data-intensive application development and analytics-driven platforms.

• Significant experience leading engineering teams and/or engineering managers with strong stakeholder engagement and ability to influence across business and technology.

• Proven experience delivering large-scale platform modernisation initiatives.

Highly regarded:

• Experience in Trade Finance, Commodities, Markets or similar domains

• Exposure to AI, GenAI or Agentic AI in engineering or platform delivery

• Experience delivering analytics-driven, quantitative or data platforms

• Experience leading multi-squad or domain-level engineering strategy
