About the client
Our client is a leading global email and collaboration security company. It is building a new engineering team in Medellín to own its partner portal for Managed Service Providers (MSPs): the platform partners use for quoting, contracts, billing and provisioning.
About the role
As the first hire of this new Colombia-based team, you will build and lead the group that takes over the MSP partner portal from the systems integrator that runs it today, operates it in production and shapes its roadmap. You will report to the VP of Enterprise Applications and Architecture and work daily with colleagues in the United States and Europe.
The stack is a React microfrontend shell in an NX monorepo and a TypeScript/Node backend-for-frontend over microservices, hosted on AWS EKS, with Keycloak for identity and integrations with Salesforce Revenue Cloud, Boomi, NetSuite, ZoneBilling, Snowflake and Avalara.
What you'll do
• Build, lead and grow a team of up to 14 engineers, architects, QA and product specialists, working closely with the Tech Lead / Solution Architect.
• Run the transition from the current vendor end to end: knowledge-transfer plan, shadowing and reverse-shadowing, exit criteria and production handover.
• Own delivery of the portal roadmap, including new partner and MSP billing APIs, with Jira and Agile practices (planning, refinement, retrospectives and release management).
• Lead hiring across two phases: define interview processes with Talent, interview candidates and onboard new joiners.
• Coach, give feedback and set clear growth paths, building an inclusive team culture with strong ownership.
• Be the team's main link with US and European stakeholders in Sales Operations, Finance, Billing, Partner and Platform teams, reporting on progress, risks and dependencies.
• Set up on-call, incident and change-management practices so the team can safely own production.
What success looks like in your first 6 months
• The first phase of the team hired and onboarded, with the Architect in place.
• Knowledge transfer from the vendor completed against agreed exit criteria, with the team owning production releases and on-call.
• No single points of failure: every critical area has a named backup, current runbooks and shared on-call.
• A predictable delivery rhythm in Jira, a roadmap agreed with US and EU stakeholders and the second hiring phase underway.

Requirements
Required
• Experience managing software engineering teams, typically of 5+ engineers, including hiring and developing people.
• A track record of delivering with distributed teams across time zones, for example LATAM with the US and Europe.
• Experience taking over a system from a vendor or systems integrator, or running a large handover or transition.
• Solid grounding in modern web architecture (React, Node/TypeScript, microservices, cloud) to engage credibly on technical trade-offs.
• Strong Agile delivery practice with Jira, comfortable with roadmaps, estimates and dependency management.
• Professional English and clear communication with senior stakeholders.
Nice to have
• Background in B2B SaaS, partner or channel portals, or MSP business models.
• Exposure to quote-to-cash systems such as Salesforce CPQ / Revenue Cloud, NetSuite or billing platforms.
• Experience setting up a new engineering hub or team in Colombia or elsewhere in LATAM.
• Hands-on engineering background in TypeScript or AWS.
