We are looking for a Senior Engineer to be part of the Software Engineering team, the candidate's primary role will be to guide & develop Intelsat's Next Generation Inflight Connectivity & Entertainment business and operation support ecosystem using solid knowledge in software design, development, and enterprise architecture.
We are looking for a proactive engineer who is comfortable working in ambiguous spaces and leading and mentoring diverse teams to outcomes that are aligned to both business and IT imperatives. This role also requires significant interaction with business and technical stakeholders. Therefore, candidates must exhibit outstanding communication and influencing skills as well as a tenacity for overcoming hurdles and impediments. The ideal candidate will have a balanced skill set of deep expertise in digital technologies along with great soft skills/competencies.
What you will do:
As Senior Engineer, following are the roles and responsibilities
- As part of Airborne Software development team, you will be taking care of design, development and maintenance of software components related to IFC (In Flight Connectivity), IFE (In Flight Entertainment) and IPTV.
- Help solve medium to high complex problems related to IFC/IFE that exists in architecture and associated infrastructure.
- Mentor junior team members, perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to architecture team on software issues or features where you are subject matter expert.
- Communicate difficult concept and articulate thoughts on technical issues to team members and stake holders.
- As part of scrum team, lead/mentor the team members on technical issues and help them facilitate in removing technical blockers.
- If needed, work with third party vendors in any issues related to line replaceable units like Wireless Access Point, Satcom SW or Modems.
Your required experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years of the professional software development experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the Telecom domain, with a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges and requirements on Linux platform
- Expertise in Java, J2EE, golang, microservices, web services, and REST APIs
- Have hands on experience with Satcom devices, network and Wireless Access Point SW and configurations
- Good understanding and hands on experience with TCP/IP stack and other L3+ protocols.
- Agile framework and scrum team experience
- Full understanding of standards for all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
- AWS development services experience specially lambda, S3 and EC2.

- Worked in commercial aviation telecom industry.
- Experience in software automation and hardware setup
- Worked with command-based utilities and scripts on Linux platform.
