Job profile: Senior, Design Evaluation Engineering
This technical lead role will lead the Bench Eval (Validation) activities on any new product development of ASIC and SOC products developed in the newly formed Digital ASIC Business Unit of Analog Devices. The role will work with the Bench Eval team that drive the post-silicon phase of the product development from first silicon bring-up to validation across PVT. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and will have the experience in validation aspects for both Digital & Mixed Signal Products, working with cross functional teams like Design, Product & Test..etc with ability to collaborate with ADI global teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design of innovative, reliable and efficient bench hardware and software solutions for digitally complex SoCs.
- Play a key role in DFT definition & development, through direct involvement with the Design team early in the New Product Development, to improve debug and testability.
- Execution of the Eval development phase of projects including silicon functionality, characterization, debug, by closely working with the Test teams to come-up with an overall silicon characterization/measurement plan.
- Technically guide and participate in hiring Eval team members needed for the new product development.
Qualifications:
- Have a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Have 6-7 years of hands-on experience in high-speed digital validation of MCUs like ARM cortex, DSPs & NPUs
- Have experience in characterization of high-speed interfaces like DDR3, PCIe, USB, HDMI..etc
- Have experience in validating protocols like I²C, I³C, SPI and similar serial interfaces
- Have experience in running performance benchmarks at system level for power & speed for MCUs, DSPs & NPUs
- Have experience in schematic design and layout review for evaluation boards.
- Have experience in validating and characterizing mixed-signal analog blocks.
- Have ability to interact with the Applications team and carve out system level usecase scenarios for bench validation
- Have knowledge of the bench software development and working knowledge of IAR, Keil and other tool chains
- Have good analytical & statistical skills and knowledge of python programming
- Be well versed with the usage of bench equipment such as Oscilloscope, VI meter, Signal generator and analyzers
- Be capable of working with the test engineers/test team to plan out the overall product characterization between Eval & Test
- Be self-motivated, and willing to accept responsibility
- Have the ability to mentor and train the junior engineers as required
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills and be a team player
