Senior Engineer, Product Applications – Magnetic Sensors
The mission of the Magnetic Sensors Technology Group (MAG) within the Industrial Automation Group is to develop highly innovative, differentiating and industry leading technology that is easy to adopt and deploy, through complete solutions, and provide expert application domain support.
Based on the huge success of our Multiturn technology and to help us achieve our ambitious goals in accelerating growth and increasing value capture, the MAG team is seeking a highly driven and dynamic engineer to take a lead role in product applications to support new product introduction and future roadmap development. This will include working on industry leading products and integrating them into high value system level solutions for our key customers.
Role Description
The Magnetic Sensors Technology Group has identified the need for a highly motivated and experienced applications engineer to excel in the following areas:
Close customer interaction and hands-on on-site support to clearly understand the key challenges to be solved across various markets.
Evaluation of product and system level solutions in the lab. Development of new test setups and evaluation platforms. Leveraging customer evaluation setups to verify system level performance
Translation of the customer problem statement into magnetic sensor system architectures of various complexities.
Ownership of the product requirements and leading the drive to bring the most impactful products to our customers.
Ownership and execution of customer facing collateral like datasheets, application notes, safety manuals etc.
Contribution to the success of the strategy, working in tandem with marketing and sales to drive opportunity pipeline growth and convert to DIN/DWIN
Build technical & business expertise within the wider applications team
Additional Responsibilities:
Clear communication to internal and external stakeholders including customers, partners, team members, and collaborating ADI teams.
Grow strong technical and business networks across ADI
Identification of emerging technology trends and translation of these into product proposals that drive the development of ADI’s business and technology roadmaps.
Tracking market trends and dynamics, driving competitive analysis
Develop and present training material to support sales process
Requirements
Strong candidates will have the following attributes, experience, and qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
Interest in Mechanics / Mechatronics
5+ years’ experience in an applications or similar technical role
Experience developing customer facing collateral (datasheets, user guides, safety manuals etc.)
Experience developing eval boards using state of the art PCB design tools
Experience with articulating and presenting concepts to customers and uncovering their needs.
Excellent communication skills, demonstrated team player
Self-motivated, thorough, autonomous, and driven to continually improve.
Enjoys working in a dynamic environment, and openly embraces working with others, including across groups and customers
Ability to travel for customer and partner meetings as required.
Additional Requirements
It will be considered a distinct advantage for candidates to possess the following attributes, experience, and qualifications:
Experience with Magnetic Sensor Technologies (xMR, Hall) and related products
Experience in magnetic simulation, with e.g. Matlab or Ansys Maxwell
Business skills, including business development.
