Purpose:
Responsible for developing maintenance schedules and manage day-to-day activities of technical department to ensure all time availability of calibrated machines and infrastructure to support manufacturing department for meeting production targets and quality standards and related tasks as per the agreed guidelines/provisions.
Responsibilities:
- Implement a system for manufacturing which will reduce wasteful production activities and achieve labor reductions.
- Plan and manage process-improvement projects and support production methods and processes for manufacturing.
- Facilitate technical information and background support to manufacturing.
- Design new fixtures, conveyor upgrades to existing equipment, which comply with NEMA, KCCA, and OSHA standards.
- Generate production and assembly procedures using acceptable and agreed upon explode views and facilitating smooth transition from prototype build to full-scale production.
- Conduct training on failure modes and effects analysis and facilitate meetings for engineering, production and quality departments.
- Design machine work-holding and assembly fixtures.
- Oversee the facilities maintenance and share monthly detailed report with the General Manager - Manufacturing
- Prepare statistical methods for evaluating production processes and development projects.
- Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance for all major equipment that belong to the company.
- Respond to breakdowns and create maintenance procedures.
- Diagnosing fault and repairing Equipment
- Supervise engineering and technical staff, and through their supervisors obtain duty rota schedules
- Obtain specialist components, fixtures or fittings.
- Manage budgets , maintain statistical and financial records
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Managing stocks of supplies and equipment.
- Shift and 'on-call' work may be required, particularly where manufacturing equipment is in continual 24-hour operation
- Any other duties as may be deemed by the immediate supervisor
Requirements
Competencies/Abilities/Skills:
- Integrity
- Excellent communication skills
- Self motivated and result orientated
- Good understanding of systems application program (SAP) operations
- Good interpersonal skills
- Basic computer science knowledge/skills.
- Must be a team leader
Qualifications and experience:
- Job holder must possess Bachelors in Electrical or Mechanical engineering from a reputable University.
- Job holder must have over 3-5 plus years’ experience in the same field or related field.
Skills Required
- Bachelors in Electrical or Mechanical engineering
- Over 3-5 years experience in engineering or related field
- Good understanding of SAP operations
- Basic computer science knowledge
