The role involves supporting high-volume wafer manufacturing by providing technical expertise in implant processes and driving continuous improvements in yield, quality, cost, and cycle time. This individual will be troubleshooting process deviations, qualifying new equipment and processes, and analyzing operational efficiency to optimize performance and reduce costs.

Typical Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Sustaining high volume wafer manufacturing by providing technical expertise in implant processes
  • Developing improvements to manufacturing processes and modifications to production process flows to improve yield, quality, cost, and cycle time
  • Root cause investigation of discrepant material and implementation of quality improvement programs
  • Troubleshooting process shifts and applying SPC fundamentals to identify areas for improvement
  • Optimizing processes to lower cost, maximize output, and match performance across tools 
  • Qualifying new equipment and new processes
  • Analyzing cycle time and equipment overall operational efficiency

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical engineering, materials science, electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, or a related field of study
  • 5+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience in implant
  • Good understanding of implant fundamentals and process knowledge 
  • Able to work on-site in cleanroom
  • Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills and ability to productively engage with individuals from a range of backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently with a high degree of ownership
  • Flexibility to learn new systems, platforms, and processes
  • Able to adapt to a frequently changing environment
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic who will thrive in a dynamic 24/7 operation
  • Experience on Axcelis implant platforms

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $94,000 to $129,250.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.

  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
