Role: Production Support Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Production Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of critical applications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and experience with monitoring and observability tools like Dynatrace and Kibana.
Key Responsibilities:
• Incident Management: Monitor production systems using Dynatrace, Kibana, and other observability tools to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes to prevent reoccurrence.
• Code Fixes and Enhancements: Develop and deploy code changes to address bugs, optimize performance, and support evolving business needs.
• Monitoring and Automation: Create and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and automation scripts to improve system health and minimize manual effort.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and business stakeholders to understand application behavior and identify areas for improvement.
• Documentation: Prepare clear, detailed documentation for troubleshooting guides, system architecture, and support processes.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive process improvements to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and performance.
• On-Call Support: Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide after-hours support when needed.
Job Scope:
• Takes ownership and is accountable when dealing with production/non-production issues.
• Diagnoses and resolves software issues and is prepared to provide on-call support as needed.
• Applies strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Communicates effectively with team members and stakeholders through verbal and written communication.
• Quickly assesses and escalates issues when appropriate to minimize downtime and impact.
• Monitors applications/environments and develops solutions to enhance support activities and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Strong programming skills in Java or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with Dynatrace and Kibana for monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with GIT, Jenkins, Maven, JUnit, Docker, JMeter, Artifactory, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with JMS enterprise messaging technologies such as ActiveMQ or AMQ.
• Knowledge of static analysis tools (e.g., Fortify, SonarQube) and remediation practices.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation technologies (e.g., Ansible, Gradle, Maven).
• Understanding of design patterns like sidecar, circuit breaker, ingress, egress, etc.
• Experience with ANTLR, Apache FreeMarker, and UNIX Shell Scripting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
