Description

is enabling the transition to self-driving vehicles through an initial focus on the most commercially advanced sector; the autonomous shuttling of goods and people.

We are home to some of the world’s leading experts on autonomous vehicles, creating solutions such as Oxa Driver, equipping vehicles with full self-driving functionality; Oxa MetaDriver, using Generative AI to accelerate and assure the safety of deployments; and Oxa Hub, a set of cloud-based offerings for autonomous fleet management. Our technology is being deployed across the UK and the U.S, and we’re partnering with a fast-growing ecosystem of operators, vehicle OEMs and equipment makers serving autonomous transportation globally as it advances.

Based in Oxford, and with offices in Canada and the U.S, Oxa was founded in 2014 and is growing rapidly (350+ ‘Oxbots’ to date). Our purpose is to change the way the Earth moves, through an uncompromising focus on safety, efficiency and explainability of our AI approaches. The company has attracted $225 million from leading investors so far, with $140 million raised in the last Series C funding round in January 2023.

Your Team

Your team is responsible for taking our vehicles' understanding of the world and turning it into real-world driving behaviour - whatever the vehicle or application. You'll be at the sharp end of our system, making a real and immediate impact on vehicle performance across our vehicle fleet around the world.

Your Role

Our successful candidate will use their existing controls and vehicle integration experience to design and develop software to seamlessly integrate our autonomy stack into our customer and development vehicles.

You will:

  • Identify, understand and respond to challenges and opportunities for vehicle control presented by specific vehicle platforms or operational environments.
  • Contribute to our core control algorithms and associated tools to maximise control performance across the fleet and optimise new vehicle deployments.
  • Be among the first to get your hands on new and cutting-edge vehicle projects, working with customers and suppliers to reach Universal Autonomy.
  • Working as part of a team, supporting and guiding team members, suggesting and discussing high level approaches to solve problems, code reviews & pair programming.
  • Contribute to agile sprint cycles to deliver on time, including planning, reviewing, and highlighting risk or scope creep against project requirements
Requirements

What you need to succeed:

    • An engineering-related degree and professional experience in software engineering, control systems and/or systems integration for robotics, motorsport or automotive.
    • Production level C++ development experience.
    • Experience working with vehicle networks (e.g. CAN) and electromechanical components.
