Role Overview

The Digital Healthcare Systems Team at Analog Devices is currently seeking a proactive Embedded Software Engineer to develop breakthrough solutions for point-of-care medical devices and systems. An ideal candidate will enjoy working with a multi-disciplinary team to build software on different platforms to create cutting-edge medical products. The candidate will also be responsible for developing robust testing and validation strategies to evaluate the entire system.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, debug and test maintainable firmware on bare metal or embedded RTOS platforms including multiple peripherals, connectivity options, and processing algorithms
  • Implement real-time, interrupt-driven drivers and control loops for ADC, I2C, SPI, and related peripherals
  • Design, debug, and validate firmware prototypes and components (drivers, interfaces, protocols), including fault handling and edge cases
  • Communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team of HW, SW, and algorithms engineers
  • Create python tooling for developer-level tests, data capture, visualization, and test automation
  • Read schematics comfortably.  Produce engineering documentation (design/bring up notes, test results) to support maintainability and handoff
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: 5-6 years of experience in developing, debugging and validating software for RTOS based embedded systems, microprocessors, microcontrollers in an industrial/commercial setting
  • Zephyr RTOS: 2+ years hands-on Zephyr RTOS development, including threading/sync, work queues, ISRs, DTS/device tree, Kconfig, west/CMake builds, and power management
  • Drivers/Interfaces: Hands-on driver development and debug for I2C, UART, SPI, GPIO
  • Languages/Tools: Strong C/C++, working Python for tooling/automation, daily Git usage, bash
  • Working knowledge of BLE and/or other connectivity methods
  • Must enjoy being hands-on and be capable of using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, etc
  • Comfortable using AI for software development
Additional Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Familiar with Linux development including but not limited to writing drivers, bootloader, sysfs, creating/modifying device trees, and Yocto.
  • Working knowledge of Free-RTOS
  • Working knowledge of WiFi, and the TCP/IP stack
  • Algorithms implementation and benchmarking (Python/C/C++)
  • Working knowledge of ML concepts and algorithms (MATLAB or Python)
  • Standard Security Features such as Data Encryption, Secure Boot, FOTA
