The Anduril Imaging team develops state-of-the-art imaging systems, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies.   The Airborne Imaging Systems team is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead. The Airborne Imaging Systems team is responsible for all aspects of airborne EO/IR system development, from the ideation stage through initial production.  In this role, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary technical team to define airborne EO/IR electrical architectures, build prototypes, perform both ground and flight testing, and mature the prototypes into products. As needed, you will also lead small teams of engineers from concept ideation through system definition and development.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Work with our systems engineering teams to define requirements based on physics-based models of sensor & system performance.
  • Be responsible for development of all electronics aspects of airborne EO/IR systems (e.g. sensor electronics, aircraft interfaces, power management, etc.)
  • Provide support and collaborate with multiple aircraft platform teams, both internal and external
  • Work with our electrical engineering organization to develop new PCB designs
  • Support system testing at the lab, ground, and flight test levels.
  • Validate models against laboratory and real world data.
  • Coordinate and communicate with both external & internal stakeholders with varying degrees of technical background.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs
  • Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts, with clearly defined interfaces and requirements for each.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting electronics at the component and system levels
  • Strong laboratory skills (e.g. design of experiments)
  • Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
  • Experience in system development from initial concept through test and delivery to customer
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance
  • Willingness to travel to test sites, as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with communication systems (RF or optical comms)
  • Advanced sensing domain experience (e.g., EO/IR, LIDAR)
  • A track record of successfully working on fast-paced, highly technical, interdisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team through design trades while meeting program deadlines
  • Proficiency in an analytical toolchains/language (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C++, etc)

US Salary Range

$120,700$181,050 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
