The Electrical Engineer develops and
maintains production-ready electrical designs and documentation for electronic
products. This role combines hands-on schematic capture and PCB layout
expertise with disciplined drawing control, component lifecycle support, and
bill of materials accuracy in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The
engineer works closely with engineering, operations, procurement, and
manufacturing to keep designs current, buildable, and properly documented.
· Create, revise, and maintain
electrical schematics and printed circuit board layouts using OrCAD tools.
· Develop and maintain
standardized electrical drawing templates in OrCAD, including title blocks,
formats, libraries, and documentation conventions.
· Update electrical drawings and
related design documentation to reflect engineering changes, production
feedback, and current product configurations.
· Review electronic component
bills of materials in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and correct part
numbers, quantities, descriptions, revisions, and other discrepancies when
needed.
· Research and qualify alternate
electronic components based on electrical requirements, fit, form, function,
availability, lifecycle status, and cost considerations.
· Create and maintain approved
alternate parts lists for electronic BOM components, with clear technical
rationale and supporting documentation.
· Perform design reviews and
checks for schematic integrity, PCB layout quality, manufacturability,
testability, and documentation completeness.
· Coordinate with procurement,
manufacturing, quality, and other engineering disciplines to resolve component,
BOM, drawing, and production issues.
· Support engineering change
processes and maintain accurate revision control across drawings, BOMs, and
related design records.
· Bachelor's or master's degree
in electrical engineering.
· 7 to 10 years of
professional experience in electrical engineering, including substantial
schematic capture and PCB layout work.
· Demonstrated proficiency with
OrCAD schematic capture, PCB layout, drawing templates, and component
libraries.
· Experience reviewing, updating,
and controlling electrical drawings and engineering documentation.
· Experience creating and
maintaining electronic component BOMs and approved alternate parts lists.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft
Dynamics 365 Business Central for BOM review and correction.
· Strong understanding of
electronic components, datasheets, component selection, lifecycle risk, and
form-fit-function equivalency.
· Strong attention to detail,
analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate clearly
across technical and operational teams.
