Job DescriptionThe Red Gate Group is seeking an Editor (Senior) to support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in Washington, DC. This position supports CIO-6, which manages and operates JWICS (the "super highway" that provides TS/SCI connectivity and communications across the DOD and IC). The role will contribute to the JWICS Modernization initiative by providing creative services support, including drafting and editing various materials to effectively communicate project status, Division leadership vision, and technical documentation to CIO-6 users and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Provide practical and concise drafting support for various materials (written, video, and audio), to include but not limited to memorandum, strategy and policy documents, reports, standard operating procedures, read-ahead documents, talking points, speeches, graphics, presentations, and meeting summaries
- Review products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as for logic, clarity, and consistency; ensures that style and format conform to agency publication standards and that language presentation is consistent with prescribed style guides and specialized vocabulary of subject matter fields
- Fact-check and ensure accuracy and quality of organization's material
- Suggest stories and generate headline ideas in alignment with organization preferences; evaluate and select content for publication in print media and online, assign topics to writers or work for publishers to improve written materials before publication
- Educate writers on best practices, identify ways to improve the flow of materials, and advise writers on content pieces
- Active TS/SCI (CI Poly Preferred)
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and understanding of the labor category activities required to meet mission requirements
- Demonstrates ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks
- Demonstrates in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulates key findings
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and with minimal oversight
- Minimum 8 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years
- Master's degree in related field OR Bachelor's degree + an additional 5 years of related senior experience, for a total of 13 years, as a substitute to the Master's degree
