About the job
Madhappy is looking for an Ecommerce Performance & Site Experience Manager to own the day-to-day performance and customer journey of madhappy.com. This person is the onsite “owner” across homepage, navigation, PLP, PDP, cart, and checkout—responsible for merchandising execution, KPI tracking (in GA4), site health, and a steady cadence of conversion optimization and A/B testing. You’ll partner with our Content team for onsite modules and assets, and our external dev partner for implementation.
You must be based in or willing to move to Los Angeles to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities
Onsite performance + trading
● Own and monitor core ecommerce KPIs in GA4 and Shopify: traffic, conversion rate, bounce/engagement, AOV, UPT, AUR, revenue per visitor, cart/checkout funnel performance
● Run a weekly trading cadence: performance vs plan, best sellers, risers/fallers, inventory-aware merchandising actions, category/collection opportunities
● Own onsite calendar execution (drops, refreshes, promos) in partnership with Marketing and Planning
Customer journey & site experience
● Ensure the full customer journey is optimized and functioning as expected across mobile and desktop (homepage → nav → PLP → PDP → cart → checkout)
● Own QA processes and bug triage; identify issues quickly and manage prioritization with the dev partner
● Partner cross-functionally to ensure onsite messaging is accurate, timely, and aligned with brand/marketing
Merchandising systems (Shopify + Algolia)
● Manage onsite merchandising levers: collections, sorting rules, badges, featured placements, cross-sells/upsells
● Nice to have: hands-on experience using Algolia to manage search, navigation, merchandising rules, and onsite discovery
CRO + experimentation
● Build and maintain an experimentation roadmap (layouts, merchandising logic, PDP modules, cart/checkout improvements)
● Define hypotheses, success metrics, and test plans; coordinate implementation; deliver post-test readouts and recommendations
● Increase experiment velocity while keeping measurement and learnings rigorous
Analytics & insights (GA4 is core)
● Own the site’s “single source of truth” performance view: dashboards, annotations, and daily health checks
● Proactively diagnose KPI shifts (e.g., channel mix, device mix, PDP load time, OOS sizing, checkout friction) and drive action plans
● Ensure GA4 event health and ecommerce tracking integrity in partnership with internal stakeholders/partners (identify gaps, validate launches, troubleshoot anomalies)
Technology & platform improvements
● Stay current on ecommerce tools and platform opportunities (search, personalization, reviews, bundling, analytics, performance)
● Bring quarterly recommendations with a clear view of impact, effort, and cost
Success in the first 90 days
● Establish a KPI cadence and dashboarding in GA4 used by leadership
● Improve site QA and reduce incidents (launch errors, broken PDPs, mis-merchandising)
● Deliver an experimentation roadmap and ship the first [2–4] tests or meaningful UX improvements
● Create a clear dev partner backlog with prioritized tickets and acceptance criteria
