Job Responsibilities:

Job Summary

The Senior Eplan Designer is responsible for leading the development, verification, and management of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for large automotive projects. This role requires extensive expertise in Eplan P8, AutoCAD, and electrical standards, along with strong leadership skills to coordinate multiple designers and ensure high-quality, compliant designs delivered on time.

Pay Rate - $43 to $ 58 CAD

Specifications and Training Requirements

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with Eplan P8, AutoCAD, and electrical design in the automotive OEM industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, National Electrical Code and industry standards.
  • Expert-level proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 and advanced AutoCAD knowledge.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to develop scripts in C# and customize symbol libraries and macros
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data from component data sheets.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deliverables meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Ability to multi-task, delegate, and work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Previous GM and/or Magna design work experience would be an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Controls Designers and other stakeholders to ensure designs comply with customer and industry standards.
  • Ensure components selected are compatible with the control system.
  • Answer questions related to the electrical drawings/design.
  • Produce accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and panel layout drawings for third-party manufacturing.
  • Track revisions and update drawings as and when changes are made.
  • Verify work completed by team members for accuracy and consistency.
  • Liaise with Eplan support, log issues, and document solutions for future reference.
  • Proficiency in managing symbol libraries, macros, templates, and database configurations
  • Develop/program new symbols and scripts for use by other Eplan users.
  • Develop a template library for use by other Eplan users.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve electrical design processes, promote industry best practices, and support standardization efforts.
  • Organize and coordinate work among multiple Eplan/CAD users, providing guidance and monitoring progress.
  • Required to meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • Perform required tasks in a safe manner.
  • Follow all safety rules, standards & procedures at all times in all areas.
  • Ensure that your work area is kept clean, tidy and organized at all times to prevent accidents and produce quality products.
  • Report all unusual circumstances and actively participate in and support Continuous Improvement.
  • Follow all ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure world-class quality products are supplied to our customer.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act S. 28
