Summary of Role

Palmetto is seeking a Senior Director, Total Rewards to serve as the company's senior subject matter expert across compensation, executive compensation, equity, and long-term incentives.

This leader will own the strategy, design, governance, and evolution of Palmetto's compensation programs, with particular depth in executive compensation, incentive programs, and Compensation Committee support. The role requires a highly technical compensation leader who can translate complex market, financial, and equity considerations into practical recommendations for executives and senior leadership.

The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on compensation expertise combined with experience operating in public company environments. This individual should be equally comfortable advising executives, developing Compensation Committee materials, modeling equity scenarios, designing compensation programs, and leading a broader team responsible for benefits and People Operations.

Strategic & Tactical

  • Own Palmetto's compensation philosophy and strategy across base pay, short-term incentives, commission plans, long-term incentives, and equity programs.
  • Lead executive compensation design and disclosure, including salary, incentives, and equity programs, grounded in peer benchmarking and company performance.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Accounting, and external advisors to prepare Compensation Committee analyses, models, recommendations, and materials.
  • Drive equity and LTI strategy (award vehicles, grant guidelines, vesting, refreshes, performance awards) and manage dilution, burn rate, and share usage.
  • Lead broad-based compensation and the annual planning cycle, including salary structures, job architecture, pay ranges, and rewards analytics.

Benefits & People Operations Leadership

  • Provide leadership and oversight of Palmetto's Benefits and People Operations teams, establishing clear priorities, accountability, and operating rhythms.
  • Oversee benefits strategy and delivery, including annual renewals and enrollment, vendor and broker relationships, employee communications, compliance, and program effectiveness.
  • Ensure benefits programs remain competitive, cost-effective, scalable, and aligned with Palmetto's broader rewards philosophy.
  • Oversee core People Operations, including employee lifecycle processes, HR systems and data, policies, compliance, and operational delivery.
  • Ensure strong governance, documentation, controls, and data integrity across Compensation, Equity, Benefits, and People Operations.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and automate processes while strengthening the employee experience and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop and coach team members while building deeper functional capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive compensation experience, with deep hands-on expertise in executive compensation and equity (RSUs, options, performance awards).
  • Experience supporting a Board Compensation Committee. Public-company or similarly governed experience, including proxy/CD&A and SEC disclosure, is strongly preferred.
  • Broad-based compensation expertise, including structures, leveling, market pricing, and annual planning, using sources like Radford/Aon, Mercer, or WTW.
  • The ability to personally build sophisticated models and explain complex topics clearly to organizational leadership and executives.
  • Experience leading teams and adjacent functions, plus sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
  • A bachelor's degree is required, and an advanced degree or CCP is preferred.
