Senior Director, Strategy
Overview
David Yurman is looking for a strategic and analytical leader to support the ongoing development and implementation of its growth strategy and strategic initiatives across the organization. This role is part of our Corporate Strategy function, which is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company and supporting strategic projects to enable the success of business leaders.
This role will work with cross-functional leaders to understand their business challenges and bring analytical capabilities to generate data-driven insights and recommendations. In this role, you will lead a team of associates to scope and conduct market and competitor research, synthesize market and industry trends, build business models to evaluate recommendations, and develop executive communications to articulate findings. Projects may include assessing new growth opportunities (e.g., markets, products), business optimization initiatives, strategic question evaluation and strategic plan development. You will also serve as an advisor to senior leaders across the business in structuring and scoping strategic functional initiatives.
We’re looking for a highly motivated, self-starter, interested in the luxury industry, with the ability to creatively solve problems and navigate ambiguity. This role will require regular interaction with senior leadership and is expected to independently lead strategy development and key initiatives.
What you’ll do / Responsibilities
- Partner with diverse teams and leaders to scope, evaluate, develop and implement strategic initiatives that support the company’s growth ambitions
- Translate business problems into analytical problems and lead the development of hypotheses to test with research and analysis
- Analyze and synthesize data and craft storylines to articulate findings and insights that can be communicated to executive leaders and the Board
- Monitor industry and competitor trends to translate external insights into actional recommendations for the business
- Build strong working relationships, across all levels and disciplines, to drive progress through influence
- Set the vision for the strategy function and build and develop the capabilities of the team
Qualifications / Requirements
- Background: Minimum of 10 years work experience in management consulting, investment banking and/or corporate strategy
- Very strong problem-solving skills with ability to find structure and logic to provide meaningful conclusions
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Ability to synthesize and communicate ideas, both verbally and in writing, to influence and communicate effectively with senior leaders
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful growth strategies and strategic initiatives

Compensation: 225-240k Base
