Litera is looking to hire a senior engineering leader to build and maintain an effective and reliable software development tea m. This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic and passionate technology leader to join a rapidly growing company and make significant contributions to the design and delivery of our products. Your day-to-day
As a Senior Director of Software Engineering , you will be responsible for the direction of a Software Development team, deliver on the organizations need to evolve and maintain the software created for its customers.
What You'll Be Doing / A Day in the Life

  • Manage the people on a large engineering team to keep them aligned and focused on achieving the team's goals
  • Drive the design, strategy and execution of software development projects to support product roadmaps
  • Lead technology architecture and development as per product needs
  • Oversee the daily activities and progress of multiple SCRUM teams
  • Monitor, and continuously update, team metrics for measurement of engineering and operational excellence. Ensure a consistent, regular process for assessment of goals and improvement of deliveries


  • Lead many SCRUM teams through estimating engineering effort to build new features and fix prior mistakes
  • Collaborate with Product Managers on new products and new features
  • Implement data driven approach to execution to drive transparency and accountability across all stakeholders
  • Identify market gaps, product/client requirements or issues and work with geographically distributed cross-functional teams such as product, customer success and sales to define detailed plan and execute it with agility and speed
  • Support the ongoing engineering needs of our existing customers and prospects while balancing product goals alongside engineering driven projects


  • Create an impact on our overall software development approach, setting engineering, road maps, partnering with product management and product marketing across different geographical locations
  • Strategic thinker with abilities to create or work on 90, 120, 180 day plans designed along with leadership team for self and teams.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor's, Masters' or PhD in computer science or information technology is required


  • 15+ years of technology including 5+ years of management experience in various elements of full-stack software development front end, back end, data and insights and hands-on technical design & implementation experience preferably in SaaS products
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to formulate Product/business strategy
  • Excellent understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) with experience guiding teams through planning, development, and rollout
  • Prior experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams of engineers simultaneously working on multiple projects
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills at high levels


  • Hands-on experience with a Docker / Kubernetes based microservices deployment and familiarity with DevOps CI/CD principles
  • Possess innate customer service skills including the ability to be empathetic, accurate , compassionate, responsive, resourceful, and conscientious
  • Strong relationship management, strategizing, project management, problem solving, and change management skills
  • Ability to work with local & global stakeholders in a matrix environment
  • Comfortable interacting and presenting in front of C-level executives


  • Thrive in fast-changing environments and ambiguity while being execution-oriented, hands-on, pragmatic, and focused on results
  • Motivated problem solver who can accurately document and communicate issues

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $150,000 to $190,000 . Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Litera offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
