SummaryThe Senior Director, Portfolio Sales is responsible for leading the Eastern region strategies to protect, maintain, and grow the business while optimizing profitability, sales execution, customer engagement, and alignment to Baxter corporate strategy.
This role requires direct leadership of large field sales teams, matrix collaboration with Marketing, Operations, Legal, Finance, Sales Training, Medical Affairs, other Baxter businesses, and the Corporate IDN organization, as well as sustained focus on building high-performing teams and delivering profitable growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and execute strategies that protect, maintain, and grow the business aligned to Baxter corporate strategy.
- Achieve annual sales and pre-tax profit expectations while effectively managing operating expenses.
- Use qualitative and quantitative data to develop short- and long-range forecasts, budgets, and resource plans.
- Deploy human and financial resources effectively across the East Area U.S. portfolio sales organization.
- Build a high-performing, diverse organization through leader selection, development, motivation, coaching, counseling, and empowerment.
- Define and implement sales and contracting incentive programs that motivate field teams to achieve business targets and maximize participation.
- Contribute to sales and management training programs that help teams realize their full potential in delivering business targets.
- Ensure strong alignment with legal, commercial operations, marketing, finance, sales training, medical affairs, other Baxter businesses, and Corporate IDN stakeholders.
- Exceed customer expectations, contribute to high customer satisfaction, manage key customer relationships, and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
- High financial acumen and previous P&L experience required.
- Ability to promote Baxter culture through positive customer relations and compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Strong ability to manage time, resources, and workload efficiently.
- Comfort with leading through ambiguity and delivering results in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration, and teamwork skills, including the ability to engage people and lead positive change.
- Experience launching and/or using sales automation and CRM tools.
- Knowledge of the hospital market preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
- Demonstrated medical device sales experience leading large organizations to meet or exceed business plans within the acute care market.
- Minimum of 10 years of people management experience, along with effective verbal and written communication and organizational abilities.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience negotiating contracts and generating contract pull-through with GPOs and IDNs at the system level.
- Leadership experience launching new products and/or contracts in the U.S. market within the last 5 years.
- Cross-functional experience in commercial roles such as Sales, Marketing, Managed Markets, Sales Training, Global Marketing, or Commercial Excellence preferred.

The estimated base salary for this position is $240,000 - $330,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
