ADVI Health is seeking a Senior Director of Policy, Research and Analysis with extensive health policy expertise in the life science sector. Our clients are pharmaceutical and biotech companies that are bringing new technology and products to market. The person in this role understands the nuances of health policy debates and has experience creating, assessing or advocating for policy changes at the federal, state, or commercial levels. This Senior Director will also lead and advise on Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) negotiations.

As a member of the team, the Director will monitor, analyze, curate, and present on important federal and state issues that impact our client’s business imperatives, including reforms related to drug pricing, coverage, reimbursement and benefit design across public and private payers. The Policy Solution team is steeped in Medicare and Medicare Advantage policy and payment, Medicaid and state health policy, as well as Exchange and employer plan policy issues. The team analyzes evolving commercial payer activities and utilization management concerns. Collectively, ADVI solutions team members work seamlessly with one another to answer our clients’ most pressing business needs and deliver solutions to excel their business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverages biopharma policy expertise to lead teams across projects to meet client deliverables in policy, research, and analysis. 
  • Sets direction and manages the day-to-day work of Manager(s) and Associate(s) assigned to an engagement 
  • Leads internal and advisor teams to drive client deliverables to completion within expected timelines and within budget
  • Provides subject matter expertise to client teams in a manner which strengthens the ADVI brand with the senior leadership of these clients
  • Manages or conducts primary and secondary market research to address client/project objectives
  • Proactively senses emerging relationship and project risks, establish contingency plans and manage expectations with both the client(s) and the ADVI client lead(s)
  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships - understanding client needs, managing expectations, and providing exceptional service
  • Builds relationships within existing clients to broaden reach including generating new business across ADVI Verticals, creating new client opportunities, building on your own and the firm's subject matter expertise
  • Serves as the day-to-day client lead on multiple clients and projects 
  • Develops and mentors junior members on his/her project teams 

Requirements

  • Advanced degree preferred (MPH, MS, MBA, PharmD, PhD) in health policy, public policy, health economics, healthcare management, public health, public administration, business administration, or a relevant discipline
  • A combination of bachelor’s degree and in-depth relevant work experience is also acceptable; advanced degree may be substituted for work experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company, consulting firm, relevant trade group or advocacy organization
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and experience with leading and developing teams
  • Experience in leading or advising on Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) negotiations.
  • Must have deep familiarity with pricing, policy, and manufacturer engagement under IRA provisions.

Location

Candidates can be based anywhere in the U.S., with a preference for those operating in the Eastern or Central Standard Time Zone. Candidates based in Washington, DC or Austin, TX, will have the option of hybrid work arrangements.


Total Compensation 

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At ADVI, we are committed to equitable pay practices and increased transparency in our compensation programs. Additional details regarding compensation philosophy and benefits will be shared by the recruiter during the interview process.

Target Base Salary Range: 

$154,000 – $200,000.  Placement within the range is determined by experience, expertise, and internal equity with consideration for unique qualifications.

Incentive Compensation:
Eligible for an annual performance-based bonus aligned to individual and company performance.

Long-Term Incentives:
Select roles may be eligible for participation in long-term incentives programs tied to company performance and value creation.

Skills Required
