This role's mission & overview:

We're looking for a Senior Director of People who will oversee the operational arm of our People & Culture function. You are a highly capable leader who can balance the technical rigor of HR program management with the human touch of business partnering. This role is critical to maintaining and scaling our award-winning culture as we continue to grow.

As our Senior Director of People, you'll be the calm, confident force that keeps our people operations running smoothly. You'll oversee HR programs, systems, benefits, compliance, and several direct reports, while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership and a reliable resource for employees at all levels. You hold vendors accountable, prevent small issues from becoming big ones, and ensure our team has everything they need to thrive. You are a proactive leader who sees around corners, builds scalable systems, and knows when to roll up their sleeves and when to delegate.

As a Senior Director of People on our People & Culture team, you will:

  • Ensure optimal usage of HR tools and systems, including vendor selection, managing vendor relationships, driving contract negotiations, and ensuring accountability to service delivery, SLAs, and contract terms, in alignment with business strategy and growth
  • Manage and oversee our benefits program, including open enrollment, vendor relationships, and ongoing benefits administration and plan evaluation
  • Manage and develop a high-performing People Operations function by setting clear priorities, delegating effectively, and driving accountability for high-quality execution
  • Own and lead people programs across performance, compensation, benefits, payroll, and compliance, ensuring alignment with people strategy while partnering with the team to design and scale effective solutions
  • Support M&A activities by contributing to HR due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition alignment of teams, systems, and programs
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
  • Partner with Finance on payroll, audits, and reporting
  • Own and resolve complex, high-risk employee relations matters
  • Act as a trusted partner to department leaders, providing strategic HR guidance and building strong relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Model our values: Put Team First, Own It, Be Admirable, Wonder, Find a Better Way, Give Joy

We think a successful candidate will bring:

  • Progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing direct reports
  • Technical HR expertise and onboarding experience in HRIS administration, benefits management, leave management, and compliance
  • Ability to build and scale HR programs in a high growth environment, including through M&A-driven growth
  • An approachable and kind, but firm when it matters leadership style. You don't shy away from difficult conversations, and you know how to respectfully hold employees and vendors accountable.
  • Trust when things get complicated, and you're equally comfortable diving into the details of a benefits plan or coaching a leader through a challenging personnel decision.
  • Proven track record in employee relations and conflict resolution
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a hybrid setting

Our Interview Process:

  1. 45 min - interview with People & Culture
  2. 60 min - interview with Hiring Manager
  3. 60 min - interview with future colleagues on the People & Culture Team

A few of the benefits we are proud to offer:

  • Robust medical, dental, and vision coverage options with generous employer contributions, plus a $500 employer HSA contribution for HSA-compatible plans
  • Flexible hybrid work location, with 1-2 days in-office strongly preferred
  • A variety of resources to support mental health and emotional well-being
  • 12 weeks of 100% paid parental leave for all new parents, including via adoption, surrogacy, and foster care
  • 401(k) with 4% company matching
  • Trust-Based (flexible) PTO (and yes, we use it!)
  • $900/year wellness allowance
  • Company-paid subscriptions, training, and support for using AI professionally and personally. We have a team dedicated to enabling our AI capabilities for our team members and our customers!

We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply:

We welcome and encourage applications from people with these identities or members of other historically marginalized groups.

Research shows that women and people of color tend not to apply to jobs unless they believe they are 100% qualified and apply to fewer senior-level positions. With that in mind, we encourage you to apply if you're not sure whether you meet our qualifications. We'd love to have the opportunity to consider you!

We encourage applications from parents, parents-to-be, and those responsible for the caretaking of others.
