Job Description

Why this role exists

Blend's marketing function has grown into a global operation that spans the full marketing funnel, from brand and market perception through demand and pipeline. We are looking for a senior marketing leader to partner with the Head of Global Marketing to drive impact.

Blend has a clear identity and a real point of view. This role takes that foundation and expands it. The goal is to make the story land harder in the markets we are going after and extend it into the categories and regions we are moving into next, with tangible impact on the business. That means shaping how we describe ourselves, holding the through-line across various areas that reach the market, and making sure the story is consistent whether it shows up in an analyst evaluation, a press release, a conference stage, or with our partners and clients.

That partnership will look different depending on the work. Some of it is collaboration: setting strategy together, pressure-testing decisions, working through team scalability. Some of it is trusted ownership: taking a set of priorities, being accountable for the outcome without needing to check in, and managing a team with driven execution.

The shape of this role will also evolve as the business does. Today the center of gravity sits in business storytelling: translating growth objectives into a narrative the market believes, and making sure it holds up wherever Blend is evaluated. Over time it is likely to expand into growth priorities like events, partner marketing, and demand.

Where you will have impact

Our approach is account-based. We put focused energy against a defined set of target accounts and named markets, which means the narrative, the campaigns, the events calendar, the partner motions, and the regional plans all have to point in the same direction. A meaningful part of this role is making that focus real — and keeping it disciplined when it would be easier to broaden.

Market narrative and strategic consistency

  • Sharpen how Blend describes itself in market, including category positioning, differentiation against the firms we compete with, and the through-line that connects our thought leadership
  • Own the messaging architecture that campaigns, events, sales enablement, executive communications, and partner materials all draw from
  • Establish the editorial standards and governance that keep the story consistent across regions, functions, and channels, and define what good looks like so the standard survives without you in the room
  • Serve as the editorial check on the work that carries the most reputational weight: press releases, analyst responses, executive bylines, and launch narratives
  • Ability to define success metrics, track and develop reporting that supports decisions made in this area and their expected or actual impact to the business.

Reputation and market perception

  • Own how the business storyline lands publicly — earned media, thought leadership, and executive visibility that put Blend's leaders in the conversations that shape our market
  • Guide the analyst relations approach alongside the Head of Global Marketing and the senior leadership team: which evaluations we pursue, what we say in them, and how we build durable standing with the firms that define our category
  • Turn client outcomes into credible, well-sourced proof that carries weight with buyers, analysts, and media

Growth capacity and planning

  • Partner with the Head of Global Marketing on the annual and quarterly plan, translating company growth priorities into sequenced, resourced marketing work
  • Own the measurement framework for your areas: what we are accountable for, how it is tracked, and how it gets reported to the executive team and the board
  • Bring rigor to investment decisions, including where to spend, where to stop, and what tradeoffs we are making
  • Build the growth capacity that makes the storyline usable — enablement, client-facing materials, and proof that moves an account conversation forward with sales and the client business units
  • Align the events calendar and partner motions to the same storyline and the same target accounts, so what a buyer hears from a stage, a partner, and our teams is one consistent story

Team leadership and global operating consistency

  • Lead a group of marketers spanning communications, content, design, and enablement, and grow the team as the plan requires
  • Coach senior individual contributors and managers, set performance expectations, and build a bench
  • Bring resources and operating consistency to the global teams that carry growth — shared knowledge, shared content, and reuse that compounds across regions instead of restarting in each one
  • Run the cadence that keeps a distributed global team aligned and engaged
  • Push the function's AI-native operating model forward, using the tooling and knowledge infrastructure the team is building rather than treating it as a side project

Qualifications

What we are looking for

We care more about demonstrated range than years on a resume. The strongest candidates will be able to point to specifics.

  • A track record of owning a significant piece of a marketing organization and being accountable for its results. We will want to hear what you were measured on, what you decided, and what happened
  • Depth in brand, corporate communications, or integrated marketing, with earned media experience and enough analyst relations exposure to hold your own with the firms in our category
  • Genuine editorial judgment. You can tell strong writing from filler, you can fix it yourself, and you can teach others to see the difference
  • Scope that has spanned multiple marketing disciplines, and comfort operating outside your deepest area of expertise
  • Fluency in the technology industry and how technical narratives can show up in market with accuracy, credibility and differentiation
  • Comfort in professional services, or a clear pattern of learning a new industry fast and earning credibility in it quickly
  • Experience managing marketers and hiring senior people
  • Executive presence with a CEO and senior leadership team, and the judgment to know when to decide and when to escalate
  • The temperament for a role that will change. Much of this work is bringing structure to things that do not have it yet, and the priorities will move as the business grows

Marketing leaders from professional services, B2B technology, SaaS, or the data and AI space are all plausible fits. What matters is the capability, not the pedigree.

What would set you apart

  • Experience within service-based business, technology industry and the partner-ecosystem; especially how service partners work with technology hyper scalers
  • Having built or scaled a marketing function through a growth or transaction cycle
  • Practical, hands-on use of AI in your own marketing work rather than a theoretical interest in it
  • Experience marketing across LATAM or EMEA, or working across languages and regional buying cultures
  • Experience with a rebrand, repositioning, or category-definition effort
  • Established relationships with Forrester, Gartner, Everest Group, or similar

Additional Information

The starting pay range for this role is $190,000 - $210,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range and determining factors for compensation are considered for each individual circumstance. BLEND360 also offers a competitive benefits program to meet the health and financial well-being of our team and their families. You can look forward to a range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K, PTO, paid holidays, commuter benefits, spending accounts, life insurance, disability coverage, and EAPs.

  • Track record owning a significant part of a marketing organization and accountability for its results

  • Experience in service-based businesses, the technology industry, and partner ecosystems
