POSITION SUMMARY

Lead the technology strategy, delivery, and operational support for Mirum's General & Administrative functions, including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, and Legal. This role will serve as the senior IT business partner and single point of accountability for enterprise applications, ensuring that technology investments support scalable operations, effective controls, reliable data, and excellent employee experience. 

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of life sciences business knowledge, enterprise applications expertise, financial and compliance acumen, and people leadership. This leader will own the G&A technology roadmap end-to-end, chair the G&A Functional IT Governance Committee, and lead a team of employees, consultants, vendors, and managed-service partners. 

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership 

  • Serve as the IT thought partner to Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Legal, and other corporate-function leaders. 
  • Develop and execute a multi-year G&A technology roadmap aligned with business priorities, company growth, risk management, and compliance requirements. This roadmap represents a $3.5–4.0M investment over 24 months across six workstreams, currently in execution
  • Act as the front door for G&A technology demand, translating business priorities into clear capabilities, investment proposals, and delivery plans. 
  • Chair the G&A Functional IT Governance Committee, facilitating prioritization, approvals, trade-off decisions, and escalation of cross-functional, budget, or compliance matters. 

Application Portfolio & Program Delivery 

  • Own the lifecycle, roadmap, integration, enhancement, and support of business-critical G&A platforms, including ERP and financial systems, planning and reporting tools, HR and payroll systems, legal and corporate applications, and related integrations. 
  • Lead complex cross-functional initiatives such as finance process automation, systems integration, master-data improvements, reporting modernization, and budget-versus-actuals reconciliation. 
  • Ensure prioritized projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and with measurable business outcomes using established IT governance and project delivery practices. 
  • Define business requirements, process designs, data definitions, testing strategies, and business acceptance criteria in partnership with functional stakeholders. 
  • Own change management, training, communications, and adoption planning for new and enhanced solutions. 

Financial Controls, Compliance & Risk Management 

  • Ensure SOX-relevant systems and processes maintain appropriate application controls, access controls, segregation of duties, change controls, and audit evidence. 
  • Partner with Finance, Internal Audit, Legal, Privacy, Security, and external auditors to assess risks, remediate control gaps, and support audits and compliance reviews. 
  • Ensure G&A applications comply with applicable data privacy, records-management, cybersecurity, and corporate policy requirements. 
  • Maintain clear system ownership, support models, documentation, disaster-recovery expectations, and vendor accountability for critical platforms. 

Team Leadership, Budget & Vendor Management 

  • Build, lead, develop, and retain a high-performing G&A IT team of employees and contractors, setting clear goals, priorities, roles, and performance expectations. 
  • Plan the domain's annual resources and budget across personnel, software, services, projects, and vendors; monitor spend and forecast budget versus actuals with FP&A. 
  • Determine the appropriate mix of internal capability, consultants, managed services, and software partners based on business criticality, required knowledge, scalability, and cost. 
  • Manage vendor performance, contracts, renewals, service levels, delivery quality, and issue escalation. 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, customer focus, continuous improvement, and practical innovation. 

Operations & Continuous Improvement 

  • Ensure reliable day-to-day operation and support of G&A applications, with clear service levels, incident management, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution. 
  • Drive process simplification, workflow automation, data-quality improvements, integration reliability, technical-debt reduction, and platform optimization. 
  • Partner with Data & AI, Infrastructure, Security, and the IT PMO to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, data governance, security, and delivery standards. 
  • Establish and track meaningful service, delivery, financial, adoption, risk, and business-value measures for the G&A portfolio. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education /Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field; master's degree preferred. 
  • 12+ years of progressive IT experience, including 6+ years in leadership roles supporting Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Legal, or other G&A functions. 
  • Experience leading enterprise application portfolios, cross-functional programs, teams, budgets, and vendors in a regulated life sciences or similarly controlled environment. 
  • Technical & Domain Expertise 
  • Deep experience with ERP and finance platforms, financial planning and reporting, HRIS and payroll, legal or corporate applications, and enterprise integrations. 
  • Strong understanding of core Finance and Accounting processes, including procure-to-pay, record-to-report, order-to-cash, budgeting and forecasting, financial close, and management reporting. 
  • Working knowledge of SOX controls, segregation of duties, audit requirements, data privacy, cybersecurity, and vendor-risk management. 
  • Experience with business process design, integration architecture, data quality, reporting, workflow automation, and cloud-based enterprise applications.

  • Proven ability to partner with and influence senior business leaders while translating technical complexity into clear business choices and outcomes. 
  • Demonstrated success building teams, developing talent, managing competing priorities, and creating accountability across employees, contractors, and vendors.

 The salary range for this position is $280,000 to $300,000 USD. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to; skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location. Please note that the required compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits unless otherwise provided.

Mirum’s second investigational treatment, volixibat, also an oral IBAT inhibitor, is being evaluated in three potentially registrational studies including the OHANA Phase 2b study for pregnant women with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, VISTAS Phase 2b study for adults with primary sclerosing cholangitis, and the VANTAGE Phase 2b study for primary biliary cholangitis.
