The Role

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Director, Global Internal Communications will act as a strategic visionary, responsible for building and leading a world-class internal communications team, with a focus on high-impact initiatives that resonate across a global organization. This hands-on leadership role requires a highly experienced professional who can shape and execute a forward-looking internal communications strategy while working directly with the CEO and senior leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a unique blend of business acumen, entrepreneurial spirit, and a proactive approach, positioning them as a natural leader and trusted advisor to the CEO and all levels of the company globally.

 YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

  • Design and execute comprehensive internal communications strategies that support Peloton's objectives, enhance the culture, and improve employee engagement
  • Lead the internal communications team, fostering a collaborative environment, guiding professional development, and ensuring high-performance
  • Oversee and inform the creation, distribution, and management of informative and engaging content across various channels, including intranet, newsletters, emails, podcasts, articles, and town hall meetings; guided by the internal communications calendar
  • Drive executive thought leadership by crafting impactful speeches, presentations, and key messages for senior leadership (VP, SVP, C-level) that align with company vision and strategy. Develop content for high-profile internal events, all-hands meetings, and executive updates, ensuring messaging is tailored to engage and inspire employees at all levels.
  • Oversee internal communications during crises, ensuring timely, accurate information is shared to prevent misinformation and uphold organizational integrity
  • Implement effective communication and feedback tools to gauge employee sentiment and feedback, using insights to drive improvements in internal communications; leverage metrics/results on the performance of stories, intranet pages, newsletter, etc. to inform and update the channel strategy
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners (People, DEI, Talent Acquisition, Corp Comms, etc.) to ensure that internal communications effectively reflect and support external messaging and brand positioning
  • Ensure the internal communications team is embedded in the organization, keeping a pulse on employee sentiment and engagement to develop proactive strategies that promote a healthy workplace culture
  • Institute quality controls to ensure communications are accurate and go through the proper approvals
  • Infuse DEI practices into Peloton’s culture, fostering an environment of inclusion and support aligned with Peloton’s vision, mission, and values

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

  • 10+ years of senior-level experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or public relations, ideally within a publicly-traded global organization, with expertise in developing and executing integrated strategic communications plans focused on internal audiences.
  • Confidence and credibility as a subject matter expert in internal communications best practices, and ability to effectively engage diverse constituencies, and build professional relationships
  • Proven experience in building or redesigning an internal communications department, including developing structures, processes, and strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness and employee engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and influence C-level leadership, driving alignment on internal communication strategies and ensuring messaging resonates with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively craft substantive and cohesive messaging based on Peloton’s strategic goals and mission, communicate messages successfully with key audiences, and adapt and adjust messages as appropriate
  • Outstanding writing and editing abilities, with a track record of developing compelling content for internal platforms and diverse audiences, simplifying complex information for clear communication.

  • Proven experience in corporate crisis communications and issues management with an ability to navigate sensitive matters, including workplace culture, social justice issues, and misinformation, ensuring consistent and effective messaging.

  • Extensive corporate/internal communications expertise, particularly within global, fast-paced environments. Deep understanding of digital and social media ecosystems, visual storytelling, and internal communication channels.
  • Demonstrated experience in executive speechwriting for C-suite leaders, including the CEO, with a proven ability to capture leadership voice, align messaging with organizational vision, and engage diverse internal audiences.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes. Base Salary Range

$238,167$333,433 USD
