We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Senior Director of C&I Operations to lead the successful delivery of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) projects within our Energy business. This role will oversee the execution of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and energy efficiency solutions for our C&I and Utility customers—ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
The Senior Director will be responsible for building operational excellence, managing cross-functional teams, ensuring customer satisfaction, and scaling delivery capabilities as demand for DER and efficiency solutions continues to grow.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of C&I projects across DER and energy efficiency portfolios.
- Translate business strategy into actionable operational plans that drive growth and profitability.
- Partner with executive leadership to refine delivery models, processes, and KPIs.
Project & Operations Management
- Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of project delivery, installation, and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.
- Implement best practices in project controls, risk management, and quality assurance.
- Manage budgets, cost forecasts, and resource allocation to meet financial targets.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a high-performing team of project managers, engineers, and field personnel as needed.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop staff to expand technical and leadership capabilities.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the senior point of contact for key C&I customers, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Offering & M&V teams to scope, design, and deliver tailored solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with external contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and shorten project delivery timelines.
- Monitor emerging technologies and market trends in DER, storage, and efficiency solutions.
- Contribute to business development and proposal strategies by providing operational expertise.
YOU MUST HAVE
- 10+ years of experience in energy, utilities, construction, or infrastructure delivery, with at least 5 years in a senior operations leadership role.
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale C&I energy projects (DER, energy efficiency, renewables, storage, solar PV, etc.).
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and P&L responsibility.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of project management methodologies, health & safety compliance, and energy regulations.
WE VALUE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Energy Management, or related field.
- Master’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or Energy Management.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience with smart grid, microgrids, EV infrastructure, and integrated energy solutions.
- Familiarity with performance contracting and energy services agreements (ESAs/PPAs).
