Senior Director, Brand Strategy

Brand Marketing & Content Function

The Brand Marketing & Content function is critical for high performing, marketing led organizations to successfully bring a product, experience or service to market by combining all paid, owned and earned channels of the brand. The Brand Marketing team develops the strategic channel plans in collaboration with all cross functional teams and works as the connective group to drive brand messaging, brand guardianship and content aligned with brand image and KPI’s.

This critical function to David Yurman will advance how we develop and execute strategies to effectively introduce, promote, and sell our products. This function is highly collaborative with various departments across Marketing (multiple areas), eComm, Retail, Visual, Creative, Product etc., It requires translating brand strategy & channel strategies, developing cohesive Campaign vision, and steering xFN partners to deliver against this for a clear, highly effective plan.

Senior Director, Brand Marketing & Content Strategy

This role plays a pivotal role in delivering campaigns that amplify and/or launch David Yurman products. Leveraging extensive experience in the US market, whilst rapidly growing experience in key International markets, you will focus on building Brand Strategy to clear briefs and execution plans. You will focus on optimizing revenue generation via maximizing audience and market reach, reflecting and evolving creative and media best practices, and delivering real-time performance reports and insights that allow optimizations in flight. This role will also be responsible for briefing all content tied to calendar moments (outside business as usual).

Responsibilities

  • Go-to-Market Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies for product campaigns, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends. This requires comprehensive 360 plans outlining how the product will be amplified or launched, promoted, and sold in the market. This involves setting goals, defining messaging, and identifying channels for reaching customers.
  • Develop Marketing Campaigns per Channel: Develop clear marketing strategies to execute the campaigns across all critical customer facing channels including paid advertising, social, site, CRM (email etc.), Retail, Loyalty / VIC and more.
  • Project Leadership to Execution: Lead and manage campaign launches from inception to market entry, coordinating cross-functional teams, defining timelines and setting clear objectives. Orchestrate the launch of the final launch of the campaign, monitoring its performance, and iterating on strategies based on feedback and market response.
  • Product Positioning + Messaging: Working w/ the brand strategy team, Insights / Intelligence, and Creative teams to craft a compelling narrative around the product's unique value proposition and benefits to resonate with the target audience.
  • Customer Engagement: Developing strategies to engage and retain customers post-purchase, ensuring a positive customer experience and fostering long-term relationships.
  • Content Creation & Optimization: develop content strategy for campaigns and collaborate with cross functional teams to provide content strategies. Be the brand guardian to ensure creative is delivering on strategic messaging, optimized based on creative learnings and ensure cohesive look and feel aligned with brand image.
  • Market Expertise: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of the US market to identify growth opportunities, target segments and competitive positioning. Deliver a plan to develop strong understanding of critical International markets.
  • Market Intelligence: Work with internal Strategic Analytics teams and Agencies to unlock critical insights that increase an understanding of the target audience, market trends, competitors, and customer needs to shape the campaign and/or tentpole moment architecture and/or messaging. Consistently develop advanced customer insights to tailor campaign strategies that resonate with the unique needs and preferences of our customers.
  • Market Research: Identify hypothesis to improve performance across Creative, Audience, Channel, Tactical Media etc. levers. Work with Insights / Intelligence and/or xFN partners (e.g., eComm) to build test/learn plan pre and during campaigns. Extract insights to optimize mid flight and to guide future campaigns.
  • Performance Measurement: Implement metrics and KPIs to measure the success of go-to-market initiatives, and iterate on strategies based on data-driven insights. Work with Strategic Analytics to track performance and insights across all cross functional teams, and identify optimizations mid-flight, and for next campaign.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Strong track record of managing product launches and cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
  • Deep understanding of customer behavior and market dynamics.
  • Proficiency in project management and budget control.
  • Familiarity with relevant tools and technology for go-to-market execution.

Location: New York, NY (TriBeca)

Working Mode: Hybrid

Estimate Salary Range: $190,000 – 215,000

Base pay is one component of David Yurman’s total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
