We’re looking for a Senior—to Director-level Designer to join DNA. We are on the hunt for a talented designer to join our multidisciplinary team, deliver digital experiences, and create a strategic advantage for some of New Zealand’s leading organisations.
This is an opportunity to work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team delivering research, strategy and designed experiences that make a difference for people across Aotearoa.
We’re looking for someone who is equally comfortable leading human-centred design work and getting hands-on with designing digital experiences and products. You’ll bring curiosity, empathy and practical design thinking — plus the ability to connect the dots across complex services, digital touchpoints, and customer journeys.
We are looking for people from diverse backgrounds who have experience in some or all of the areas outlined in this job description. However, you must have had actual experience working on human-centred design projects with a digital delivery element.
What you’ll do.
- Work on a wide range of projects — from digital platforms to service journeys
- Lead design approaches from research and insight gathering through to design and delivery
- Help clients understand, define and optimise their strategies, value propositions and experiences
- Apply digital product design skills — creating concepts, prototypes and user flows that work in real life
- Collaborate with internal teams, client teams and subject matter experts
- Juggle multiple projects — owning design timelines, budgets and approaches
What we’re looking for.
- 5+ years’ experience in experience design, UX or digital product design
- Strong experience leading or supporting research and design projects and bringing teams along the journey
- Solid capability in human-centred design methods, from qualitative research to experience mapping and digital design
- Experience working on digital products, services or platforms — understanding the realities of product development
- Experience working as a senior designer in banking and financial services would be positive but not essential
- Great communication, facilitation and storytelling skills
- Adaptability and ease of working in multi-disciplinary, fast-paced environments
- A positive, curious and collaborative attitude
What we offer.
- Interesting, impactful work across a diverse range of clients
- A collaborative and inclusive team culture
- Career growth and learning opportunities
- Work from office — with flexibility to remote work when needed
