About Us
Duco is on a mission to reduce the time spent on data-related work by 90%. Our enterprise data automation platform empowers teams to work more efficiently and meaningfully by giving them the ability to automate data controls with the latest technology, such as no-code, the cloud, and AI.
We help firms to start trusting their data, by giving them one intuitive platform to automate the front-to-back processing of all kinds of data (from structured Excels and RTFs to unstructured PDFs and emails). This eliminates the boring manual work across the data lifecycle and enables firms to act faster, work smarter, save money, reduce risk and comply with regulatory requirements.
We’re headquartered in London and have offices in New York, Wroclaw, Singapore, and Antwerp. We’re proud to call some of the largest global financial institutions our clients, including over 15 of the world’s largest international banks, as well as brokers, exchanges, asset managers, hedge funds, administrators, service providers and corporates.
About the role
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the evolution of our software delivery and observability capabilities. In this role, you’ll focus on designing and driving our CI/CD strategy, shaping build and release workflows, and developing tooling that accelerates developer productivity. You will be a key contributor to standardising delivery practices, improving automation across the SDLC, and ensuring our systems are monitored, observable, and resilient.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you’ll collaborate closely with engineering teams, guide best practices, and take ownership of mission-critical delivery and observability systems that support our growing customer base.
What you will be working on
- Lead CI/CD strategy & execution: Drive fast, reliable, and secure delivery pipelines.
- Architect delivery systems: Evolve build systems, release workflows, and automation frameworks for scalable software delivery.
- Own Observability: Define and implement unified logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and SLO-based operations.
- Develop internal tooling: Build tools to boost developer productivity and efficiency.
- Partner on optimisation: Collaborate with development teams to optimise builds, standardise environments, and improve SDLC automation.
- Standardise CI/CD: Create and maintain reusable templates, libraries, and best practices using tools like GitLab CI, Flux, and Helm.
- Provide incident leadership: Offer senior, hands-on troubleshooting and long-term remediation for major delivery or observability incidents.
- Integrate platform systems: Ensure delivery systems integrate seamlessly with Kubernetes and cloud services.
- Mentor & coach: Elevate team standards and enable self-service capabilities in CI/CD and Observability domains.
- Drive innovation: Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies to improve company-wide build performance, observability, and delivery reliability.
Ideally, you will have
- 7+ years in DevOps/Platform/Build Engineering, specialising in large-scale CI/CD and developer workflow optimization.
- Expert in designing and operating production CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
- Proven observability leadership (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Jaeger/Tempo, OpenTelemetry, Honeycomb).
- Strong scripting (e.g. Bash, Python, Golang) for automation and internal tools.
- Deep knowledge of modern build/packaging (e.g. Docker, container optimisation, caching, artifact management).
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, establishing CI/CD governance, quality gates, and compliance at scale.
- Hands-on architect, capable of guidance and hands-on implementation.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. DevOps, Kubernetes, AWS) a plus.
