This is a hands-on DevOps role with strong ownership expectations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-moving, product-driven environment and can both execute and advise—bringing structure, best practices, and improvements where processes are missing or incomplete.
You will work closely with engineering leadership and development teams, gradually taking full ownership of DevOps responsibilities while collaborating on strategic decisions related to infrastructure, reliability, and delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Management (AWS)Own and manage AWS infrastructure for production, staging, and test environments.
Perform capacity planning, cost optimization, and availability improvements.
Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance across environments.
Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Standardize deployment workflows and reduce manual steps.
Collaborate with developers to improve release velocity and reliability.
Design, manage, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform.
Ensure infrastructure configurations are version-controlled and reproducible.
Promote consistency across test, staging, and production environments.
Implement and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
Build dashboards and metrics to track system health and performance.
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
Assist with incident management efforts when issues arise.
Implement and maintain AWS security best practices (IAM, security groups, policies).
Collaborate with InfoSec to support audits and compliance requirements.
Proactively identify and mitigate security risks.
Manage containerized workloads using Docker and AWS ECS.
Optimize container images and resource utilization.
Maintain container registries and deployment processes.
Manage Linux servers, including patching, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
Automate routine operational tasks using scripting (bash, etc.).
Diagnose and resolve system-level issues.
Design and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Regularly test backup restoration and failover procedures.
Ensure business continuity plans are documented and validated.
Work closely with developers to improve deployment and operational workflows.
Provide guidance and recommendations on DevOps best practices.
Create and maintain clear documentation for infrastructure, processes, and runbooks.
Strong experience with AWS in production environments.
Solid Linux system administration background.
Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Strong experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
Experience with Docker and AWS ECS.
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
Experience implementing security best practices in cloud environments.
Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
Comfortable working independently and taking full ownership.
Experience with cost optimization in AWS.
Familiarity with incident management processes.
Scripting experience (bash, Python, etc.).
Experience working in SaaS or product-focused environments.
Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO, etc.).
Day-to-day DevOps responsibilities are fully owned by this role.
Infrastructure is more stable, observable, and cost-efficient.
Deployments are faster, safer, and more predictable.
Gaps in processes and documentation are identified and closed.
Engineering teams can focus more on product development instead of operations.
