Job DescriptionAs a Senior Software Engineer, Infra Architect & Service Management, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing automation solutions to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency in IT Managed Services. This role involves setting up, configuring, and maintaining automation platforms, leading automation development, and coordinating with Ops Leads to implement automation use cases. You will also ensure code control, versioning of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and seamless deployment of automation solutions.
Additionally, the role requires hands-on expertise in scripting languages such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, Chef, Groovy, and PowerShell, as well as experience in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps platform management, and cloud-based automation. You should be proactive, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have a passion for automation and process optimization.
What will you do?
Automation Development & Implementation
- Build and maintain an automation playbook using technologies such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, Chef (Ruby), Groovy, PowerShell, and JavaScript.
- Lead the design and implementation of DevOps and automation solutions for IT Managed Services.
- Develop and deploy automation use cases to improve productivity.
- Ensure proper code control, versioning, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) implementation.
- Code and script for automated testing in both testing and production environments.
Platform & Infrastructure Management
- Set up, configure, and manage automation platforms such as Ansible, Terraform, and GitLab.
- Maintain operational SLAs for automation platforms.
- Manage the DevOps platform setup and ensure seamless deployment of automation use cases.
- Ensure compliance with ITSM integration and other relevant system tools.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead DevOps engineers in developing and implementing automation solutions.
- Coordinate with Ops Leads to collect automation requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Act as a mentor to junior engineers and promote best practices in DevOps and automation.
Service Delivery & Operational Efficiency
- Understand and implement automation best practices in daily service delivery and operations.
- Ensure process efficiency, automation stability, and system reliability.
- Drive continuous improvements through proactive automation development.
Pre-sales & Business Support
- Provide pre-sales solution support for automation solutions.
- Assist in proposal development and solution presentations.
The ideal candidate should possess:
Experience
- 6+ years of experience in IaC code development for automation in service delivery/operations.
Proven experience in:
- Ansible, Terraform, and Chef platform setup, configuration, and management.
- Code versioning, CI/CD, and automated testing.
- DevOps platform setup and CI/CD pipeline deployment.
- End-to-end implementation of IaC in managed services projects.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix/Windows Administration.
- Experience with automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and MySQL.
- Proficiency in source code control, versioning, and automation tool integration.
- Some knowledge in developing playbooks using RPA tools.
- Certifications in DevOps or automation tools (preferred).
Non-Technical / Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for programming and automation, with a proactive approach to process improvements.
- Good understanding of systems, networking, and software development lifecycle.
- Self-motivated, team player, and able to work independently.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in developing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using scripting languages such as Ansible, Python, Chef (Ruby), Terraform (HCL), Groovy, PowerShell, or Bash.
