Senior DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing team.

• Design, implement, and maintain Fastly VCL (Varnish Configuration Language) configurations to optimize caching, routing, and edge logic for ecommerce traffic.

• Monitor and troubleshoot edge performance, latency, and security events, especially during high-volume sales periods (e.g., Black Friday, product launches).

• Integrate Fastly and Signal Sciences with observability platforms such as Datadog for real-time alerting, dashboards, and performance analytics.

• Maintain version control and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for VCL deployments, ensuring safe and rapid iteration.

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or DevOps engineering roles, preferably in ecommerce or high-traffic web environments.

• Extensive knowledge of major Cloud platforms, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure, with demonstrable experience in migrating, deploying, and managing large-scale systems on these platforms.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. Ability to construct and manage virtualized infrastructure and enforce best practices for security, reliability, and maintainability.

• Web Application Security & Routing experience with Signal Sciences (Sig-Sci) and Fastly for routing and policies.

• Proven experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitHub Actions and FluxCD.

• Comprehensive understanding and practical experience with Git for source control management and demonstrated experience integrating repository management tools such as Artifactory and ECR.

• Proficient in containerization and orchestration with technologies like Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, EKS, GCR, ECR, and Kustomize.

• Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) writing modular, reusable code, leveraging immutability, and applying functional paradigms to build scalable automation solutions.

• Experience integrating monitoring and alerting tools like Datadog.

• Deep understanding of HTTP, CDN architecture, caching strategies, and web performance optimization.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and swiftly under pressure.

• Experience developing web applications, bringing a strong understanding of application architecture and performance optimization.

• Familiarity with ecommerce platforms (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud).

• Knowledge of other CDN platforms (e.g., Cloudflare, Akamai) is a plus.
