Overview of the role

We are looking for a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in Microsoft Azure and a strong background in .NET engineering to support, enhance, and expand our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in automation, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), and infrastructure as code (IaC). As a Senior DevOps Engineer at IFX Payments, you will work closely with our development and operations teams to streamline deployment processes, improve system performance, and ensure high availability and scalability of our services. 

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. 

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment process. 

• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or ARM templates. 

• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability. 

• Collaborate with development teams, especially those using .NET, to integrate new features and services into the cloud environment. 

• Ensure security best practices are followed and implement appropriate security measures. 

• Manage and optimise costs associated with cloud resources. 

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the infrastructure and processes. 

• Provide support and guidance to development teams on DevOps best practices. 

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer or in a similar senior role, with a focus on Microsoft Azure. 

• Strong background in .NET engineering, with a deep understanding of .NET applications and their deployment. 

• Strong knowledge of Azure services including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure DevOps, and Azure Storage. 

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash. 

• Experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab. 

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Ansible. 

• Strong understanding of networking concepts including VNet, VPN, and firewalls. 

• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. 

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights. 

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. 

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
