Ryz Labs is looking for a Sr Devops Engineer to work with one of our clients and architect their next-generation infrastructure from scratch. You’ll transition them from legacy setups to a robust, containerized Kubernetes environment featuring automated deployment workflows, ephemeral staging for testing, and seamless horizontal scaling. You will spearhead their migration away from VPC and onto a managed cloud provider, owning the
technical selection of their future platform.
As their first dedicated infrastructure specialist, you are a foundational hire. You will partner closely with their Full Stack Software Engineer to decompose our monolith into a modern, distributed architecture. As new services emerge, you will be responsible for designing and building the high-velocity deployment paths that power them.
What You'll Own
Platform & Infrastructure
• Architect and deploy our K8s ecosystem from the ground up — owning the technical evaluation and migration from Hetzner to a managed cloud solution.
• Engineer ephemeral staging environments that enable high-velocity, isolated feature testing prior to production deployment.
• Drive the fundamentals of system resilience: scaling horizontally, hardening uptime, and perfecting our backup and recovery protocols.
CI/CD & Deployment
• Modernize their release infrastructure by replacing legacy SFTP and manual script execution with high-velocity, automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with their Full Stack Software Engineer to transition from a monolith to distributed services — engineering the deployment paths and setting the standard for
production-grade reliability.
Security & Observability
• Command our security landscape — architecting robust secrets management, rigorous
access controls, and a hardened baseline posture across all systems and deployment
paths.
• Engineer a proactive observability framework, perfecting monitoring and alerting protocols to neutralize potential issues before they escalate into production incidents.
What You Bring
• Proven mastery in platform and infrastructure engineering at a senior level. You possess the conviction to own architectural decisions and the maturity to operate with absolute autonomy.
• Deep, hands-on experience architecting K8s and Docker ecosystems from the ground up. You don't just manage existing clusters; you build the engine.
• The tactical judgment required to transition legacy bare-metal VPS setups to modern managed cloud platforms, including the ability to select the right environment for our scale.
• A track record of engineering high-velocity CI/CD pipelines that eliminate manual bottlenecks and accelerate release cycles through intelligent automation.
• Technical command of security and observability fundamentals, including secrets management, rigorous access controls, and proactive monitoring frameworks.
• A collaborative mindset. You build infrastructure in lockstep with software engineers to ensure our distributed services are production-grade from day one.
• The discipline to thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first culture. You are a self-starter who moves the needle without needing a roadmap provided for you.

Skills Required
- Proven senior-level experience in platform and infrastructure engineering
- Deep hands-on experience architecting Kubernetes and Docker ecosystems from the ground up
- Experience migrating bare-metal/VPS infrastructure (Hetzner) to managed cloud platforms and selecting the right cloud environment
- Track record of engineering high-velocity CI/CD pipelines and automating deployments
- Technical command of security fundamentals, including secrets management and access controls
- Experience designing observability, monitoring, and alerting frameworks for production reliability
- Experience engineering ephemeral staging environments for isolated feature testing
- Collaborative experience working with software engineers to decompose monoliths and design deployment paths
- Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, remote-first environment (self-starter)
