DevOps Engineer | Mid to Senior Level
We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer with a strong infrastructure and Linux background to support a mission-critical national security program. This role focuses on building and maintaining the environments that software teams rely on, including Linux systems, virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, and supporting compute, network, and storage infrastructure.
You’ll work with Ansible, Rancher, Kubernetes, RGS, and hypervisor solutions to automate configuration, manage platform services, and keep development, test, and operational environments running reliably. The work includes hands-on administration, troubleshooting, infrastructure modernization, and technical documentation.
What You Will Do
- Build, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles to automate provisioning, configuration, patching, and repeatable administrative tasks.
- Deploy and support Kubernetes clusters using Rancher and RKE2.
- Configure and maintain hypervisors and virtual machines, including resource allocation, provisioning, and performance troubleshooting.
- Support RGS and its integration with the program’s infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot issues across Linux, virtualization, containers, networking, and storage.
- Work with software and security teams to support deployments, apply security controls, and resolve platform issues.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related STEM field, with 5+ years of relevant experience. Senior-level candidates typically bring 8+ years.
- Strong hands-on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including services, permissions, storage, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Experience writing and maintaining Ansible playbooks and roles for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
- Experience deploying, administering, and troubleshooting Kubernetes environments using Rancher and RKE2.
- Experience administering hypervisor platforms and supporting virtual machine environments.
- Experience supporting RGS.
- Bash or Python scripting experience for system administration and automation.
- Working knowledge of networking and storage concepts, including DNS, routing, firewalls, and shared storage.
- Experience installing, configuring, and integrating commercial and open-source infrastructure software.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and supporting infrastructure within a DevSecOps environment.

Skills Required
- BS/BA in STEM (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, Physics) and 8 years related experience
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Active CI Polygraph
- U.S. citizenship
- Security+ or CISSP certification
- Experience designing, implementing, and integrating platform infrastructure services using Kubernetes and RKE2
- Experience with programming/scripting languages (Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go)
- Experience with Red Hat Linux and troubleshooting Linux-based applications and infrastructure
- Experience ingesting services via Apache Kafka
- Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CI/CD pipeline tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab)
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef
- Experience developing, testing, and delivering applications within a DevSecOps framework
- Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration
