🌍 About Us

NPX partners with nuclear utilities and new reactor projects to unlock performance through innovation. We combine decades of nuclear operation expertise with AI, digital tools, and lean processes, to help plants run safer, smarter, and more cost-effectively. Our Digital Transformation team scales this expertise through both NPX-developed and industry-leading products, delivering solutions to clients across Canada, the U.S., and globally.

🧠 The Role

We’re seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps Developer who thrives on designing, building, and operating secure, production-grade cloud and on-premises infrastructure in regulated environments. You’ll play a key role in enabling our engineering teams to deploy mission-critical digital solutions into the nuclear industry.

This role sits at the intersection of cloud architecture, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and reliability engineering. You’ll own infrastructure strategy, drive automation at scale, and ensure our SaaS and AI-enabled systems are secure, resilient, and production-ready.

If you enjoy taking an idea from whiteboard → working code → secure, compliant production system - this role is for you.

Travel Requirements: Travel for quarterly team events.

Salary Range: $170-190k (Exact compensation may vary)

🎯What You'll Drive
  • Architect, implement, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP, Azure is preferred) supporting scalable SaaS and AI-enabled products.

  • Lead containerization and orchestration efforts using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE, AKS is preferred).

  • Design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines incorporating automated testing, security scanning, and deployment controls (DevSecOps).

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, ARM, or equivalent) to ensure reproducible, auditable environments.

  • Establish observability standards (metrics, logging, tracing) using modern monitoring tools to support SLIs/SLOs and high availability targets.

  • Own reliability engineering practices including disaster recovery strategies, backup automation, and incident response processes.

  • Implement secure architecture patterns, IAM controls, secrets management, and infrastructure hardening suitable for regulated industries.

  • Collaborate closely with software engineers to embed DevOps best practices directly into product development.

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and define cloud platform standards that scale across client deployments.

  • Help raise the bar for engineering quality, security, and operational excellence across the team.

  • Lead post-incident sessions for when production issues occur and root-cause analysis is required.

✨What You Bring
  • Technical Breadth: You understand how software is built, deployed, and operated. A background in application development is a strong asset, enabling deeper troubleshooting, better automation, and more effective partnership with product teams.

  • Results & Impact: You deliver secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure that drives measurable product and customer value.

  • Hands-On Leadership: You lead by building, setting technical standards through code, architecture, and operational excellence.

  • Adaptability & Growth: You continuously learn and apply modern cloud, automation, and DevSecOps practices that perform in real production environments.

  • Initiative & Ownership: You take systems from concept to compliant, production-ready deployment and own outcomes end-to-end.

  • Cultural Amplification: You elevate the team through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a high bar for craftsmanship and reliability.

🌿 What You’ll Find Here

To do great work, you need to be well in mind, body, and soul. At NPX, we design our environment around the whole person, not just the job they do.

  • 🧠 Mind: Tools and support for mental wellness, professional growth, and financial security.

  • 🧘‍♀️ Body: Health coverage, a spending account, and the freedom to rest and recharge.

  • 🌀 Soul: Meaningful work, alignment with your values, and time to refresh with time off.

  • 💰👀 Financial wellbeing? Covered. That means competitive pay and recognition for the impact you make.

NPX provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. 💬 Pssst. Just a heads up that we use AI to help in the filtering of candidates based on job-specific criteria. Humans decide who to move forward, and this way we're able to spend more of our time supporting our candidates directly.

Skills Required

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud and on-premises infrastructure in regulated environments
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS preferred)
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scanning, and deployment controls (DevSecOps)

  • Implement secure architecture patterns, IAM controls, secrets management, and infrastructure hardening
  • Hands-on software development experience to troubleshoot, automate, and collaborate with product teams
  • Lead post-incident reviews and root-cause analysis for production issues
