THE DEVOPS ARCHITECT POSITION
Sunnova is searching for a Senior or Principal DevOps Architect to assess existing infrastructure and design healthy, scalable architecture patterns across the stack. This is a key, hands-on role that will assist the DevOps team with identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for improvements and innovation. This influential role will champion DevOps best practices and partner closely with the software engineering, software quality engineering, product and project management teams to introduce scaled CI/CD, monitoring and other key DevOps practices across the SDLC.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in Amazon/AWS infrastructure and modern DevOps with a focus on enterprise-scale CI/CD practices. Experience with Salesforce applications is preferred although learning on-the-fly is also acceptable.

DEVOPS ARCHITECT RESPONSIBILITIES
•Design and implement (or improve) release pipelines, CI/CD, monitoring, and environment management
•Collaborate with leadership in executing a comprehensive roadmap to build out the DevOps practice at enterprise scale across all applications and platforms at Sunnova
•Be a coach for a highly motivated DevOps team, helping to guide their education and execution
•Establish and implement DevOps and continuous delivery best practices
•Have a deep understanding of primarily cloud-based platform and release management, including Salesforce, AWS, Informatica, and mobile, among others
•Modernize and streamline existing promotion, release and environment management processes and strategy
•Drive metrics and KPIs to monitor progress across the DevOps practice, including DORA metrics
•Partner closely with software quality engineering, software engineering, product, project management, infrastructure, security and compliance teams to ensure DevOps best practices are implemented across the SDLC
•Promote culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing on DevOps across the Software and Business Technology teams
•Champion a strong quality-focused mindset in a quickly evolving enterprise software organization
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
•Experience in DevOps, DevSecOps and/or software engineering
•Experience designing and building enterprise-level infrastructure
•Experience using infrastructure as code, automation and other tools
•Legally authorized to work in the US for ANY employer
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Experience building out and scaling enterprise-level DevOps
•Experience managing fully remote teams across multiple time zones
•Experience working with Agile teams, with preference for Scaled Agile
•Proficiency in automation, configuration management, and deployment tools (such as AWS Code Pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes, Copado, etc.)
•Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms (such as AWS and Salesforce) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts using Terraform, Cloudformation etc.
•Familiarity with scripting and programming languages (such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
•Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar are a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS
•Extended periods of time working at computer workstation
•Schedule needs to be flexible to the needs of the business and may require occasional weekend or evening availability to support software releases
