Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Developer with deep experience in modern PHP-based development to join our Engineering team. This individual will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and modular systems across our internal platforms and customer-facing applications. A solid understanding of secure, sustainable development practices in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable PHP applications using frameworks such as CakePHP and Laravel
- Build and consume RESTful APIs to integrate with internal and third-party systems
- Customer portal development experience and integration.
- Contribute to the modernization of legacy systems and help shape a modular, scalable codebase
- Leverage Docker for development, testing, and deployment in a containerized environment
- Optimize MySQL queries and database architecture for performance and maintainability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, infrastructure, and support
- Apply secure coding practices and conduct peer code reviews
- Process workflow automations
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests
- Document system architecture and contribute to development standards and best practices
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional PHP development experience
- Strong expertise with Laravel and/or CakePHP frameworks
- Proficiency in MySQL, including schema design and query optimization
- Demonstrated experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Practical Docker experience in a development or DevOps environment
- Familiarity with WHMCS or similar billing/automation systems is a strong plus
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles and modular design
- Comfortable working in Git-based version control environments
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing automation, and development best practices
- RabbitMQ and Redis configuration and administration
Nice to Have
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and services (e.g., ConnectWise, WHMCS, Zabbix, Observium, LibreNMS)
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools (e.g., Docker)
- Knowledge of security best practices in web application development
- Background working with Agile methodologies
- Previous experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or SaaS environment
