Senior Developer

Job Summary 

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior with 8-10 years of experience, preferably in the healthcare domain, who possesses a strong understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies. The ideal candidate should have experience in cloud platforms, DevOps, databases, and Agile methodologies. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining healthcare software solutions that are robust, scalable, and secure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Develop, test, and maintain scalable front-end and back-end applications.

• Work with modern frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, .NET, Java, Python, Ruby on Rails, or similar).

• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices to support front-end integrations.

• Work on healthcare applications, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, HIPAA, HITECH, and ICD.

• Optimize applications for handling sensitive healthcare data, ensuring performance and security.

• Develop and deploy applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Design, manage, and optimize relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).

• Ensure data consistency, performance tuning, and secure handling of healthcare data.

• Work within Agile Scrum/Kanban teams to deliver incremental value in sprints.

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, UI/UX designers, and QA engineers.

• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Provide technical mentorship to junior developers and ensure adherence to coding best practices.

• Architect and design technical solutions based on business requirements.

• Optimize applications for handling sensitive healthcare data, ensuring performance and security.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, healthcare informatics, or related field; or equivalent professional experience  

• 5+ years proven experience within a healthcare environment  

• Hands-on experience with PACS, HIS, and EMR systems. 

• Proficient SQL skills and experience with database management.   Proprietary software product is supported by MS SQL Server.  Proficiency with Transact SQL, triggers, functions, stored procedures, database schema design, SQL agent jobs, and ad hoc querying. 

• Excellent technical communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization  

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities 

• Ability to adapt to constantly changing projects.  This role requires a high level of self-motivation, self-management, initiative, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.  Occasional off-hours work is required to migrate during off-peak system times. 

• Attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and security.  Comfort and willingness to handle and analyze and scrutinize large medical record datasets is a critical aspect of the job to maintain high data quality standards 

• Front-End: Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks such as React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.

• Experience with backend technologies like Node.js, Java, Python, .NET, or Ruby.

• Strong understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases.

• Hands-on experience with cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes.

• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Knowledge of HIPAA, FHIR, HL7, or other healthcare integration protocols is a plus.

• Proficient with tools like Git, Jira, Confluence, and code quality tools.
